Good evening and welcome to the AC360 Academy Awards Live Blog. The winners, the losers, Jack Nicholson’s sunglasses…we’ve got your running commentary. And sure, considering all that’s going on in the world, the Oscars aren’t hugely important. But if you’re looking to get away from the bleak news-of-the-day for a few hours, then this blog is the place for you.
We should also point out that we’re not encouraging you to change the channel from CNN, but if you’re going to watch the Oscars anyway, you might as well watch them with us.
And even if you’re not watching them, because of your feud with Kate Winslet or whatever, we think you’ll still enjoy the live blog. I’ll be with you from 8:00pm Eastern Time until the Oscars finish airing here in New York.

I am probably the only one on here that wasn't that impressed with "Slumdog."
Jessica Biehl is beautiful....but why was she wearing a towel to the oscar's? Not that I'm complaining.

@Fay: The Professional is a great move and I believe it was her first movie ever. I've been following her career ever since. I just think it's cool she went the college route instead of the clubbing Lindsey Lohan route.
I will admit to not knowing who Daniel Craig and Seth Rogan are – although their names sound familiar – esp. Seth.
Man, I don't like that dress either. First the giant bow on Aretha's head and now this...
But it's not like I'm a fashion maven myself. Meh!
I'm sorry but... It's clear Jessica Biel isn't going to be winning an Oscar anytime soon.

I really like the production this year - so much more interesting. Maybe it all looks better b/c I'm watching on a good TV for the first time, but really like it.

Okay - I'm bored, but Ben Stiller just made me laugh!
Good movie and had forgotten that Mickey Rourke was in it - Body Heat from the early 80's.
I know this is a little off topic - but I really enjoyed HBO's "Taking Chance" last night. Good movie and I thought Kevin Bacon gave a moving performance.
Okay, that was fairly awesome.
Ya gotta love Ben Stiller! He is a genius!! So much like Joaquin Phoenix! 🙂
