The Washington Post recently reported that Gen. Jim Jones, President Obama's national security adviser, is reviewing plans to reorganize the White House National Security and Homeland Security councils.

Some, if not all, of the functions of the Homeland Security Council may be folded into an expanded National Security Council.

There is no more solemn responsibility that the president bears than to protect American lives.

During my 4½ years at the White House, I came to believe that, for this reason, organization must be dictated by effectiveness. How best to maximize effectiveness will inevitably change over time as we as a country continue to weaken al Qaeda and other enemies, as the Department of Homeland Security gains strength, and as our government better integrates the capabilities that have been built since the tragedy of September 11.

Janet Napalitano. What the hell does she know about national security?

What a waste. If somebody tells me i will stop bashing her. Phoenix, Arizona is now the #1 city in the united states and #2 in the world behind Mexico City in Kidnappings.CONGRATULATIONS.

People better do some research and at least know what people are running this country.

Not only should America abandon the stand as "police state" but we should also enrich our civil rights under the Constitution...which has, in the past, been seriously violated, i.e. the privacy act.

What's with the phrase bandied about, "We remain a Nation at War "? What war,and with whom? Iraq was #1 on the Bush Adminisrations Wish-List to beat-up,and Afghanistan was no more than a hiding ground of foreigner's that caused "911",not the indigenous people of the country! It was the CIA's lapse&commatose in handing-off to the FBI in foresight, that brought about this modern day "Pearl Harbor"? So let's not turn America into a "Police State"!
