I got it. The baby maker had a dysfunctional family so she thought she'd bring other kids into an even more dysfunctional family. I had amazing parents. I'm sure some others on this blog did too. Makes me mad every kid doesn't have that chance. Goodbye!
I feel badly for Phelps too. He's lived in a pool for the last 8 years, and he made a minor mistake. It's fine for Kelloggs to drop him – that's their perogative, but it angers me to see SC talk about arresting him. He stood up and acknowledged his mistake without excuses. Let it be.
@Bea, nobody can PROVE that he did anything wrong. What's the over zealous law enforcement official going to do when he arrests him? FOR WHAT? There's no evidence!
Anderson,
that pilot Sully is a true hero! He should be considered for the new year of CNN’s heroes!
I agree Maureen T!!!!!
Good night, Anderson, Erica, David G, David in IN, Michelle D, Ashley,
Glen, Rikki and best bloggers!!!!!
Have a great night and sleep tight everyone!!!!!
See you tomorrow night!!!!!
Anderson,
Have a great sleep at home after work........ See you tomorrow night!!!
Consider this suggestion: Give every single homeowner making less than $150,000 (double if married) an automatic reduction on the interest rate on their mortgage. This extra money would be instantly spent, every month, on esssentials that each individual will find important to them. If liberals want to have an abortion with their savings they can, if conservatives want to donate to their church they can, but the money will be spent and each individaul American will be able to decide how best to spend the "stimulus" I don't know how much this would cost, but you could find out. No socialism.
I've got one question...Dang! How does a guy smoking weed swim that fast?! Look, everyone makes mistakes, and they should be forgiven. The guy is just a kid still trying to fill some grown-up shoes. The message that people ought to be sending out as a result of this is that we make mistakes, but apologize, get back up and try it again.
Thanks for the reading Mr. D. Looking forward to insight to grow our great country.
They will all come together for America's Sake.
Goodnite all.
Goodnight darlings!
winning the olympics put michael phelps into a position of responsibility. children look up to him as an example and smoking pot puts out a wrong signal.
Good night Anderson and Erica, interesting show tonight!
Too bad Phelps didn't do his pot-smoking in Massachusetts. We just passed a law last November making possession of less than an ounce a misdemeanor, payable by fine.
Your so right Erica...I have called my Senator several times, Susan Collins. She has really stood up to this pork package.
Whew! what a night! Great show.
Good night! Be safe!
Thanks Erica. I've been trying to get as many people to do this as possible. Great show once again.
@Mike – I for one like reading dissenting viewpoints! So thank you for putting up with us. 😉
@ Mike, you and I and xtina are the only Republicans here. You're not alone.
I think the President is really saying...."This problem happened under the Republican's watch and now they want to stop us from saving the country." It's time to put our big boy britches on and save the country from ourselves.
Everyone,
A great friday to all!
Anderson, Erica, David,
Good rest!
And still tomorrow!
good night everyone
*oh
phelps has suddenly reminded me of half the losers at my highschool.
none of them are really losers except for the marijuana deal.
it's a little dissapointing...
now we know he's actually human.
Hi Mr Gergen, your wise input is always appreciated. I have a short fuse with the Republicans because I associate them with all things Cheney/Bush...
goodnite all, great program!
Well, I always thought Phelps was "too good to be true". I was afraid he was going to eventually "burn out"....never thought it would be over a picture of him smoking pot! He'll overcome this!
Good night Anderson.
Goodnight Erica and floor crew.
Have a great one!
Time for some zzzzz. Good night Andy! Great show! Rest easy!!
@David Gergen. I am not a big Obama fan. I just think that Obama's speech was needed because he wasn't speaking to that room. He was speaking to the public. The Republicans have poisoned tried ot poison the well by putting out partisan statements about the bill. He has inept majority leaders in both houses. So it's up to him to get Americans on board.
Hey Anderson it's Frosted Flakes & Corn Flakes, not Wheaties. Keepin' em honest.
Mr. Gergen...thank you for sharing your insight with us bloggers! I tell people all the time that you are a political genius! And I agree President Obama is the most inspiring leader in our government! 🙂
GOODNIGHT ANDERSON!!!
LOVE THE SHOW!!! =)
President Obama should know that if no results in the short term, the honeymoon, which preceded his arrival to power, will finish, and its capacity will be placed in doubt by a devastating way.
Kellog's doesn't make Wheaties. He was on the Corn Flakes box.
Sometimes I think that those who have everything, especially celebrities, like to live on the edge.
im from canada ...i wish that i could see the republicans faces when President Barack rises to the top passing the stimulus bill without them!
Sounds like that Sherriff in Richlands, SC is out to make a name for himself. He is out to burn Phelps.
We are going to borrow close to a Trillion dollars from countries like China for this stimulus package, and it is not OK to criticize it? It cannot be perfect, but it should be as close to perfect as is possible.
@David Gergen. Thank you for the insight. I was wondering where you were hiding tonight. Keep blogging.
The President can't be passive forever. At some point, in certain circumstances, he simply has to come out swinging, don't you think?
KarenT – a lot of Americans have been calling their representatives on Capitol Hill – and jamming the phones! Obviously a lot of people want to be heard, as they should be.
@David Gergen, I know the feeling. I'm in the minoritty here every night. Sucks doesn't it?
Kellogg's doesn't make Wheaties, so Phelps would never have been on the Wheaties box. It was Corn Flakes and Frosted Flakes.
Oh wow. How will Michael ever survive without being on a Wheaties box? Does anybody even buy Wheaties anymore?
Jeez. Give the guy a break.
Come on Anderson, was Michael actually taking a hit though? I mean he could've been holding the bong for someone! Come on Kelloggs! Obviously Michael should 've been aware of that individual with the cell camera!!
Sick of Phelps not taking responsibility. He says" well now I know who my friends are." Is a friend someone who doesn't tell on you when you break the law? Gimme a break. Get rid of the publicist statements and speak from the heart. He's just a parrot now. It's just money Michael. You let people turn you into a product. Grow up.
Well done Ackerman!! With grilling like his, we'll surely scare off an wall street lackeys from leading the SEC in the future!! Let's get some real muscle in there to enforce existing regulations and pay them decently so they don't have to look to Wall street for a better job. I wonder how much of listing fees actually go to the SEC to hire enough quality individuals?
I am glad that Phelps was suspended. He is no different from any other athlete and does not deserve special treatment. He is a role model to many children and failed in his responsibilities.
Hi Anderson..... In my opinion, Obama is doing a great job at restoring our country's confidence with his words.... and making us "feel" like there is hope......etc.... however, is all his talk good enough to fix our problems????? Is that all we need ??? talk ???? I dont think so......
This is not going to ruin Michael Phelps career.. He'll be alright.
Although I don't think Phelps acted responsibly I think he is handling the situation well. I think the way he is handling the ordeal well.
"Michael Phelps, what were you thinking?" Isn't that the point of smoking pot...to NOT think?
One last word: you're welcome, David Gergen, and thank _you_ for clarifying.
I Hope Michael Phelps rebounds from all of this. He's an excellent athlete that has showed he's a human. A human who is never perfect. Life doesn't give gold medals. I wish him well.
Great show tonight Anderson, Erica and all Bloggers. I think I will laugh myself to sleep thinking about the tongue lashing Ackerman gave the SEC today. That was sooooooo good.
Have a good sleep all. See ya tomorrow night.
