We need to stand up and say "Enough is Enough"! I am sick and tired of hearing about another package the gov. is trying to pass that has nothing in it to help the Housing Problems we are having! I am very ashamed the way our Gov. is handling this crises.

I don't like to see cops and someone scuffling like that. Good report by Jeanne Moos, that last part about an officer calling 911 on himself and his wife is hilarious, I guess they're ok.

Enjoyed the Jack Gray, Erica conversation drama

Are the beeps part of the music?

    Goodnight Megan. Good night everyone.

lol, did yall hear that 911 call to the police about the guy overdosing on weed what a crock lol he was just a little parnoid it happens, what if he was intoxicated with alcohol and made a 911 call hed either be drinking and driving or doing something stupid and end up dead and in jail, and i live in south carolina, and it still cracks me up that micheal phelps got busted smokin but in all reality someone else took that pick on purpose too prove a point i think, but if you realy think about it it just shows how far and how well someone can go in america and still smoke pot imagine if phelps was an alcoholic i think america gots it policies backwards just think about it phelps smokes pot just like alot of people to relax and hes still an amazing smimmer lol, if america just taxed it and sold it like ciggarettes i think it'd be great

Good evening all. With all the reports of CEO bonuses and junkets, I think they need to return all of it if they're receiving bailout money from U.S. tax payers. Not only that, the second portion should be withheld unless they comply with the demands.

Stimulus plan I think we all would like to see the money go directly to those of us who work or just lost their jobs instead of all this crazy no nonsense spending!

Anderson can you imagine the CEO of a failing company seeking employment and saying that he is seeking new employment because his last company failed or because they wanted to cut his salary to $500,000.00 a year until his company became profitable again. Let him try it and see how quick he gets a new job.

Good night all Bloggers. See you tomorrow night.

What is the debate if any of us caused our companies to go under wed be fired with no reference... paying them in stock is their incentive to get it back to 75 per share. and those against the cap on our tax dollars how ya feel about welfare moms driving lexuses or bmws? their constitutional right?? i think not when you ask for help you show restraint, their version of restraint was cutting from 35B$ to 19B$ whooo hooo no wonder the companies failed. and the brain drain arguement bye bye! some young talent somewhere would be elated to work for 500k plus stock i sure would

Isn't it interesting how it is Dick Cheney who is so incensed about seeing how the Obama Administration is taking a diffferent course in government, while there is little similar effect upon George W. Bush.
It was good to have a relatively smooth transition between the two men(Bush -Obama). I think we will hear more from Cheney in the future

    February 4, 2009 at 10:56 pm |

You don't give good night, don't finish the show.
I am in a vacuum, waiting.

A 'until tomorrow' would be more (hmm…) 'sympathique'.

Or you say good-bye and cable tv (in Brazil) finish, before?

    Good night! And still tomorrow!

I just lost my job after 15 years, and I must tell you I dont know what to do! I live paycheck to paycheck so I can relate to all of the issues tonight except of course Joe the Plumber, god I wish he would shut up...I will run for office at least I can give them a working mother's perspective. A working mother know's how to balance a budget, clean house, oh and put up with a bunch of crybabies!

PS. Anderson. I watched the various recent news anchor interviews with President Obama, and yours was by far the best. No surprise there and thanks for your consistently outstanding work!

Do the Republicans think that dragging Dick Cheney out in the public eye is going to help them "beat" the democrats bailout package? Or the GOP must be embarrased to have Rush Limbaugh speak their cause so its Cheney to the rescue?

About the $500K CEO Cap... CEOs making $xx million dollars will likely bail, saying screw that and simply retiring. No harm, no foul. Laughing all the way to the bank.

Still, ego might be a reason for some CEOs to stay. They don't want to be perceived as the cigar-smoking, narcissistic, good life loving excess addicts that they are. Let alone listed as a failure and forced to retire with "FAILED CEO" stamped ubiquitously on the final analysis of their life's work.

Still, it's amusing to think that these CEOs could be pulling salaries less than their own secretaries (assuming that they make even 5% of their bosses salaries).

  45. Saad, NJ

Haven't had a chance to read thru what everyone thinks of President O's limiting the CEO salary cap.... but I think it is a great idea. I do NOT want CEO's to get my money and my fellow taxpayers' money and reward themselves with millions...

re: Stimulus. No doubt the economy needs a jump start, but I don't think it will happen with the current bill. Very scary to think taxpayer dollars are so cheaply sold. First hundreds of billions in bailout was tough to swallow. Now, sticker shock is clearly fading........for congress and senate. What's a taxpayer to do?

    February 4, 2009 at 10:54 pm |
  49. Pam W

Not only should huge salaries be capped, Corp America should also have to pay higher taxes for outsourcing work. Between mergers and oursourcing, I will never be able to find another job. 15 years down the john, all because of greed.

    Make them all pay!!!
