    I think it's great that Goldman Sachs will pay back their TARP loan so promptly. I'm glad to see congress is earning money for the taxpayer so soon. They are being charged intrest right?

    Great job on the interview with the President, Anderson! I really enjoyed watching, as always.
    How come none of the economists are seriously talking about the possibility of giving the money to consumers directly. It's a consumer based economy, right? If money goes directly to consumers, they could pay off those bad mortgages, pay the credit cards off (if they're smart), buy houses and cars, put money back into the stock market, educate their kids, (who are, after all, paying for this), start new businesses, and put money in savings to help weather this economic storm. No need for extended umemployment, food stamps or other entitlements, which we all know cost alot and make the recipients feel terrible. Doesn't that solve all of the problems? No more money to banks et al to bail them out, only to discover the money doesn't trickle down. People don't want food stamps and unempolyment – they want a decent paying job. People don't want to have to file bankruptcy just to get someone to renegotiate their bad loan – they just want to pay their bills. Plus, it would be alot simpler to implement. If people blow it, to bad, but it can't be worse the the bureaucracy deciding what our lives will be like. I trust my friends and family more than I do corporate titans or the govermenent to know what is best for them. Why won't this work?

    I do believe President Obama boasted he would end the back door draft or Stop Loss! Do you want to know why the SUICIDE RATE is up in the Army? My son who just got back from his year tour in Afghanistan and multiple tours in Iraq , He was just told he will be returning to Afghanistan for a year. He has physical custody of his two boys! His contract for the US Army will be up in March 6th of 2010. Yet they will send him again after nine years in the Army he has had it.
    He has a divorce which he did not want and his security clearance taken away due to financial reasons. Over three years ago yet they send him to do a job which he loves year after year. Yet he is not going able to do it when he gets out because he screwed up about 5 years ago or more and his credit is wonderful bought a house sold it.
    Before the bottom fell out. He is going to be sent and has Physical custody of his two boys. He calls me at midnight not being able to sleep! He was planning their future not going back to Afghanistan! If they if all the recruits they need and will not give him his clearance back. Have not passed the bill of a hundred dollars a week extra for stop loss. What the H do they have to look forward to? Now they tell them when they get home so they agonize over it. I did read where all recruiting retentions had been met.
    This is bull no bias just bull.
    Michelle Obama has wriitten wonderful letter to the army telling the families and the GI's she prayed every night when she tucked her kids in. That she would be their biggest advocate they would have a voice in the White House.
    Can you tell me cant we get this to her and less hear where or whom is jerking the chain, they even want to cut spending and more energy effecient for defense areas. How bout some raises people everything has gone up.
    Every one is saying cut defense bonuses. Why you are sending son and his contract will be fufilled in 2010. He will be sent for a year away from his children again for another year.

    I know you are all talking about stimulus pkg. Do not forget who keeps you safe to even spend money or be alive.

    I appreciate she will be a voice for us but how do we let her know?
