It is always good to talk things through, but it is even better to just listen because there are times when there are no solutions but space and time for understanding.
As I heard someone say today, this was a simple yet meaningful move. I think that the most effective weapon is sometimes called: simplicity ! Argue with me if you want.
Mister President, you are sincere, smart, diplomatic, and humble. But most importantly you know how to talk, understand and appeal to a wide variety of different people groups, and people in the middle east are no exception. Just what we needed. I don't want to sound ethnocentric or anything...but mixed race people kind of blend in anywhere anyway. LOL. I just threw that in for reflection. nah...I know...it's not about the president's race, it's about his intellect and personality, and after all, we are all human beings (with very different views, cultures and habits that is)
"To those leaders around the globe who seek to sow conflict, or blame their society's ills on the West: Know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy." - President Barack Obama
I'm sure this was NOT a welcome endeavor by those who were suspicious of Mr. Obama being a Muslim himself. lol
His plan seems so simple: agree to disagree and be respectful of each other. Why didnt anyone think of that before?
Thank you President Obama. You said that you would talk to the people of the Middle East early in your administration. This was brilliant! You did not even take Air force One, your people or yourself off the ground. You did not endanger our soldiers by going in person, saved money and time. Your first days have given me even more hope. Did I mention I love a person who can multi-task...
