So that's the 'tax cuts' the Democrats thought Republicans would like? Yeah, right? I think the House Democrats just got busted for not playing nice.

Apparently after serving as President, you develop a sense of humor...maybe George W. will simply develop sense-okay, okay, that was a unfair jab.

    Hi Anderson,

Your guests just called for a czar for the stimulus!

I suggest Bill Clinton and Newt Gingrich as a bipartisan team co-czars to help Obama speed a text book perfect bill through the congress.

Their experience framing successful and well prepared plans recommend them.

Holy cow that joke George H.W. told was hilarious! The fact that HE told it made it even better.

So sad about the Travoltas. No offense to the media, but wouldn't it be better to have left this exportion mess alone. Although most everything towards them has been so positive, they have enough to deal with, especially if they have to appear in court. Very sad....

2 quick things: Firstly, regarding Mr. Haggard – If he has been struggling against his attraction to men for all these years, how can he and other so-called Christians still insist that homosexuality is a 'choice'??
Secondly – Loved watching President Obama's interview last evening. How very refreshing to watch an intelligent, well-spoken and thoughtful president address the single biggest crisis facing the world.
    thank you

Regarding Bill Clinton and George Bush (sr)….you mellow as you get older. This doesn't surprise me at all. Human nature is such that we all really want to get along.

Thank you 360 and Bloggers–I thoroughly enjoyed the blog (and show) this evening. God, I'm hungry....grrrrrrr....woof, woof, woof...grrrr!

@Caroline: I think they should just take that $825 billion and create 3 million jobs with it. I wouldn’t mind working for the government.

Actually with $825 billion you could 'pay' 11.8 million people a salary of $70,000 for a year. 3 million jobs would average $275,000 each job. Pretty inefficient huh?

    amen abby,

either he was too selfish to admit the truth, or too crushed to be able to accept himself as gay because of his religious beliefs, but it surely is a greater sin to decieve your wife and bring children into your lie than just being gay, god makes people that way so he accepts them its people that dont accept gays not god

The stimulus plan cannot stimulate the economy folks, it's simply stealing $825 billion from the private sector. It's time to let the market correct itself, government get out of the way!

I found Bush's mocking comments about the woman's looks offensive. People have a right to have convictions regardless of their capacity to turn him on.

Oh, please leave Haggard alone. Cute face, but as far as I'm concerned he's definitely not a role model. His brand of religion brings us right back into the Dark Ages.

I think everyone should leave Rev Haggard alone. I am sure we all have things in our backgrounds that we don't want to share with the world.

I agree with David Gergen. I am a Bank Manager and Mortgage Specialist for one of the failed Major Banks. For transparency, you must have an audit trail. Top Mortgage Advisors, Top Financial Analyst, Examiners or Auditors must be assigned to keep accounting records of proper use of the TARP. I am also a Realtor and Tax Specialist.

I think that guy (kid! He looks so young!) is right: you don't allow a documentary to be made while your supposed intent is to go about living a "normal, private life."
I don't mind the Haggard story- and others like it- so long as we see them for what they are: powerful people like preachers and politicians railing against the GLBT community while secretly participating and (worse!) paying people to keep quiet about it.

    January 27, 2009 at 10:54 pm |

ted haggard just follows all the aboveall preacher's that keep on going

The Travoltas just lost their son and now they have to deal with this. It's amazing what people will do for money.

President Clinton was great today...of course he can't make that kind of jokes...

    January 27, 2009 at 10:54 pm |

Anderson's reporting on the Ted Haggard controversy is bang-on. It is incredibly hypocritical for a closeted homosexual to bash those who are openly gay.
