I, like many others believed that Mr. Musharraf was God-sent when he came into power. Then, like previous army dictators who have ruled Pakistan, he became power hungry and thus became evil. Now that the evil is gone, Pakistan has a President who makes Mr. Musharraf looks lesser of the evils.
It is indeed the bad luck and unfortunate fate of the generally speaking, moderate society of Pakistan that it has rulers who have never allowed the institutions of Pakistan to prosper. For their own greed of money and power, the rulers of Pakistan have deprived the younger generation to fulfill the dream of a prosperous life.
But then again, it is the people of Pakistan who when given a chance, elect those who have corruption written on their foreheads. But then again, it is the rulers of Pakistan who have never put education on top of their agenda which has allowed for moderate and humble citizens of Pakistan to not know any better. They fall prey to the corrupt politicians and then the army. All of the above is a vicious cycle and a catch-22 in Pakistan situation but a sad fact.
