I noticed that too Megan, the tape mix up, but I didn't want to say too much about it. I'm gland Obama is keeping abreast of the economy on a daily basis too.

Beautiful pictures of the Obamas, very relaxed at home.

Good night Megan. Good night everyone

The man playing the clarinet is from Chicago (though he now lives in NY and at 29 is the principal clarinet of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra) and his story is very interesting. His name is Anthony McGill (not "and company").

Good night all - good mix in the show tonight Anderson.

For anyone who thinks Obama isn't doing enough or don't think he is doing the right things, NO ONE has the answers right now...no one. It's all a crap shoot.

fyi, stringed instruments are very sensitive to the environment, moisture, heat, cold, etc... i can understand them having to pre-record it.

I've been wondering how they pulled that long piece of music off in 22 degree weather. Makes much more sense now! At least these musicians are real musicians and have amazing talent, unlike Miss Simpson.

    January 22, 2009 at 10:55 pm |
  32. Rikki, Fargo, ND

As a violinist, I can tell you that cold or extreme hot can take its toll on instruments. And the cello that Yo Yo Ma plays probably cost a pretty penny! It was probably a good thing that they pre-recorded the piece! 🙂

    January 22, 2009 at 10:55 pm |
  33. Betty Ann, Nacgdoches,TX

    Goodnight Everyone!
    I hope you have a "Change" this week-end! 😉

No way could they have played those instruments in that cold and have them stay in tune – especially the stringed instruments.

And I know Yo-Yo Ma's cello is worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, Perlman's must be, too. I'll bet its a Stradivarius.

That "concert" was pre-recorded? Did I hear that correctly? Man, that sucks!!! I was thinking how great all of the music was because it was the real deal. UGH

    Final thoughts...

Caitlin - thanks so much for joining in; you and your friends represent the future.

And what was John Thain thinking? He was getting great credit for finding a partner for Merrill before it tanked.... so why would someone so smart do something like having over a million dollars spent on remodeling his office? Really a shame - he has been such a good leader for years. Feel badly for him.

    January 22, 2009 at 10:54 pm |
  40. Chris Sosa - Boston, MA

Oh, yes, Ashley's ho-down. How can we ever really forget?

I love watching you guys, the political commentary is tremendous

Re the pictures and commentary, Ok, I see Michelle's support for Obama but where is Obama's support for Michelle. No harm done, but he doesn't really support her except give her a compliment every once in a while. It's fine as a personal choice for a couple but let's not give him too much credit here. Michelle makes Obama possible. Obama does not make Michelle possible.

I do have confidence in the President but I wonder if the circumstances could create an un planned for bit of turbulence.

As bad as the economy is now, it’s nothing compared to the dark abyss if the national debit continues to spin out of control. And the overseas investors (China, Saudi Arabia) decide that buying US debit is no longer a safe haven and the US goes bankrupt.
