Antoine, I truly appreciate what you have been able to communicate to the world through your films. I often wonder when I watch documentaries and movies about the civil rights struggle, how those who opposed the movement feel about the progress blacks have made in our fight for equality. For example, do the policemen who were ordered to disburse crowds of freedom marchers using deplorable acts of violence feel proud or remorse when they look back at the archived footage of them using water hoses and tear gas on a peaceful crowd? Are their children and grandchildren proud or offended by their heritage? If you know of a documentary that has explored my questions, please email me.
