Jack Gray
AC360 Associate Producer

Welcome to our 1st Annual Golden Globes Live Blog.  I'm your host and, in case you're wondering, my qualifications include once riding on the same elevator as Sarah Jessica Parker and working for several years in a video store/tanning parlor.

I'll be with you from 8pm – 11pm Eastern Time.  Now, to be clear, we’re not advocating changing your channel from CNN. But if you’re going to watch the Golden Globes anyway, you might as well watch them with us as your running commentary. And frankly, you don’t even need to be watching the Golden Globes to enjoy the live blog.

Disclaimer:  I'm sure some of these movies/TV shows are connected to CNN through our parent companies Turner Broadcasting and Time Warner.  HBO, Warner Brothers and New Line Cinemas are just a few of our high-profile sister companies.  But seeing as how I've not gotten so much as a free hat or poster, I'm not in the tank for anyone.

If you want to take part in our Live Blog (and we hope you do) please follow our rules.

Here are some of them:

1) Keep it short
2) Don't write in ALL CAPS (we don't like screaming)
3) Use your real name

    It's all deja vu!

Spielberg is God in the film world – agreed Jack. Good man. Cannot wait to hear his speech. A friend of mine just graduated from USC Spielberg Film School and she said that he is very down to earth and totally amazing as an instructor. I was not surprised.

Tina Fey was a little aggressive in his speech.
If she had not at the top (in height), would not have people speaking ill of her.
When no one speak more evil it is to be worrying!

I still remember the year they lined up every living prior winner. Took forever.

I remember that too Stacy – each year they promise to streamline the Oscars, but it always seems to get worse.

@Dulcie: I'm with you. I'm clearly spending too much time reading/watching the news and not enough vegging out on TV.

Prison Break didn't give either to the exit. I think I did not compete in anything, in GG. Is true?
    But I love ...

I haven't noticed Anderson's tie crooked. For him, I have less of a critical eye.

Steven Spielberg is getting the Cecille B. DeMille Award. If anyone deserves it he does. The man is a genius. And he was very nice to me when my dog Sammy barked at him and his wife when we walked past them in Manhattan recently.

It's interesting that Indian movies with universal appeal are doing well. There was some very good ones prior, though with the release of Bend It Like Beckham and Monsoon Wedding. They also had great cinematography.

Streep is so good. I didn't know she could sing, either. I think her great acting ability made her singing even better. I loved that movie.

Pati, I like all types of movies, but sometimes you just need to see a well done historical drama or documentary to balance it all out.
