Jack Gray
AC360 Associate Producer

Welcome to our 1st Annual Golden Globes Live Blog.  I'm your host and, in case you're wondering, my qualifications include once riding on the same elevator as Sarah Jessica Parker and working for several years in a video store/tanning parlor.

I'll be with you from 8pm – 11pm Eastern Time.  Now, to be clear, we’re not advocating changing your channel from CNN. But if you’re going to watch the Golden Globes anyway, you might as well watch them with us as your running commentary. And frankly, you don’t even need to be watching the Golden Globes to enjoy the live blog.

Disclaimer:  I'm sure some of these movies/TV shows are connected to CNN through our parent companies Turner Broadcasting and Time Warner.  HBO, Warner Brothers and New Line Cinemas are just a few of our high-profile sister companies.  But seeing as how I've not gotten so much as a free hat or poster, I'm not in the tank for anyone.

If you want to take part in our Live Blog (and we hope you do) please follow our rules.

Here are some of them:

1) Keep it short
2) Don't write in ALL CAPS (we don't like screaming)
3) Use your real name

The Bruce Springsteen song is fantastic. I have it on my iPod. At least I did before David Gergen stole it.

Revolutionary Road reminds me of Mad Men.

Jack, I, like Pati Mc, would like to know if you are home in your jammies and slippers, or at the office?

LOL, someone might want to tell Miley it is not very grown up to stick your tougne out at the camera! All that Vanity Fair work gone to waste.

Kate and Leo's other movie is called "Revolutionary Road." It's amazing. It's my choice for Best Picture. Because not is it only brilliant but it reminds me of why I don't want to live in a cul-de-sac.

Jack, I'd much rather hear Fran (even her laugh) over Kate's long speech. Why does everyone feel like they have to thank everyone and their mother when they win an award?

    January 11, 2009 at 8:07 pm |
  13. Max, Dallas, TX

How endearing was that? What a gracious winner.

Here's hoping for some big wins for Slumdog Millionaire.

I'm looking forward to the part where Fran Drescher crashes the stage to make her senate stump speech. I think it's right after Anderson and Kelly Ripa's dance number.

Mama's Talking! LOL, the night does start off with traditional unpredictabilty.

I saw The Reader and Kate Winslet was amazing, but I was kind of hoping for Penelope Cruz in Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
