Illinois House votes to impeach Blagojevich
The Illinois House of Representatives today voted to impeach embattled Gov. Rod Blagojevich. The question of whether to remove Blagojevich from office now moves to the state Senate. Blagojevich was arrested last month after federal prosecutors alleged, among other things, that he tried to sell the Senate seat vacated by President-elect Barack Obama.

I don't condone what he's done or allegedly done. But there's no difference between what he's done & our lobbyist whom it's legal for. Right on we do need change!
I wonder why if Patrick Fitzgerald had so much proof against Blagojevich that he could go ahead and arrest him , why did it take the state House so long to impeach him? I hope the state Senate gets around to voting on his guilt and/or innocence before his term of office is over.
Now that's my major complaint regarding government, this should not have taken so long.
Yeah, but this guy is proving to be simply brilliant–regardless of the ethics issues or the bizarre nature of this whole thing. He's pulled the pants down on the Justice Dept. and poked the eyes of the Illinois political machine, and he's just getting warmed up. I think the lame D.C. politicos and many of the media types are badly underestimating him....
The vote in the House would seem to indicate that the evidence against the Gov. is pretty convincing.
CNN needs to look at Roland Burr'is' testimony in front of the Ill House Impeachment committee. He admitted he had met with a representative of Blago several months ago (contrary to his written statements) about the Senate seat. His lobbyst partner sits on a Board which hired Mrs. Blago – and you think Burris is clean?
What will be bye-bye song on tonight's 360.
I am still trying to figure out the porno music.
It's sad that a state would vote to fire a man for running his state like any American CEO.
It is a country built on greed. The businesses tell essential lies and pull arms to stay open. Banks no longer loan, but they do steal fees from credit or checking - as there are no laws forcing them to request it.
Collection agencies may be owned by anyone. They can purchase your information and steal your identity. The bank won't hire criminals, but they'll sell delinquent accounts to someone released from prison the same day.
Corruption, lies, deceit, extortion with a twist of good PR spun on TV is the American way.
Blago should be allowed to resume. Or Illinois should regulate their businesses. To do otherwise is hypocrisy.
It's understandable that the Illinois House of Representatives voted to impeach Blagojevich, however, has anyone vetted the Illinois House of Representatives? coffee calling the kettle black?
It's about time that they voted to kick Blagojevich out of office! They should have done it sooner and had him out before he had a chance to seat anyone in the senate. I guess he got his one last hooray in though.
