Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, who last week sharply questioned whether Caroline Kennedy should be appointed to the US Senate, said yesterday he's rethinking his views because he believes Gov. Paterson may soon pick her.

"I have determined there's a good possibility she will be the appointee of the governor," Silver, the state's second most powerful Democrat, told The Post.

"If she is the appointee of the governor, I will certainly be supportive of her. I will work for her and will work strenuously for her election."

You know,it's a good thing, you know. You know, her family is well known, you know. You know, I had a crush on her brother, you know.

Well, I'm at least glad you guys started using a flattering picture of Caroline instead of that other one that makes her look 75 years old.

I'd like to see Caroline given a chance; everything that she has done, that I know of, she has done well. She has a superior education in constitutional law, has written several books about it, and been active in education and arts projects as well as being a full-time mother to her children. Her experience is different from what most people have when running for a Senate seat but it doesn't make it less legitimate.

It goes to show. In politics, it is who you know or are related to. Caroline is cashing in on her name. If she is appointed, it will be a travesty. Even though I don't like the other candidates, they are more qualified than her. I would be more qualified than her. I just don't have the name. I believe she will be selected just base on being the daughter of JFK.

If the people of New York state elect Caroline Kennedy in 2010 to a full-term, maybe the anti-Kennedy whiners will quit complaining, but I doubt it. The will of the people is not enough to stop the Kennedy bashers from bickering and crying like little children. Boo-hoo. 🙁

It seems that Caroline Kennedy caught the political bug after witnessing the candidacy and win for President elect Barack Obama who she supported. Now everyone wants to be in politics it seems.

But Kennedy would be an exciting choice to replace outgoing Sen. Hillary Clinton, and her statements that she would work twice as hard is evidence that she will make the Senatorial seat one to closely observe for the next 2 years. I say give her a chance.

After all, we gave George Bush a chance. Uh, scratch that. Give her a chance...after all she does come from good political blood.
