Chaos and revelry from the control room

This should be an easy show, right? Nope. Between laughing from the Anderson and Kathy hysteria to technical issues, this is far from a midnight picnic. This show is classically orchestrated weeks before we go to air, and when it comes time for broadcast, well it goes you know where.
Nonetheless, this is a great group of people to ring in the new year. Fortunately for us, we are warm in the chaotic control room. Phones ringing off the hook, people yelling over the raucous crowds in the field and just looking forward to midnight. From 12 on, it is all warm and fuzzy, watching the east coast revelers, and watching the midwest getting ready for their countdown.
Stick around, there are many laughs to be had.

There was plenty of chaos and yelling, and there’s more to come here in the New Year’s Eve show control room as we count down to midnight in the Central Time Zone. But under all that there’s plenty of excitement. And even though I’m working on New Year’s Eve, as we all took a sip of a fizzy drink at the stroke of midnight, I couldn’t help but think this ranks pretty near the top of my New Year’s celebrations.
It’s been a great year for AC360 and AC360.com, and there’s lots more to come in 2009.

I thought Anderson Cooper was so cute with all the giggling and laughing he did with Kathy. I thought they made the show quite interesting. I actually enjoyed and watched the whole entire show because of the two.
Let's bring Erica up to the booth, and put Kathy down in the crowd where it seems she'll do just fine. Anderson's more comfortable and funnier with Erica, and they are hillarious together. I hope the "glitches" were a result of revelry and not an omen for the New Year!

CNN seems not to feature the Andy/Kathy thang on this website...I don't know why. I really liked the whole show, and the combination of Andy and Kathy was great. I watched it in rerun at 3 am EST, and really liked the way they worked together. Perhaps it was a new experience for AC - to let loose a little bit in public? To enjoy and show his real self, with Kathy's help...

my wife and i love watching anderson and kathy and we think they are good together so we would like to suggest that you guys move in together and have your own reality show. it would be a riot the way kathy makes anderson giggle uncontrollably the whole show, it would be fantastic.

Anderson is great, but Kathy Griffin is annoying; she constantly interrupts Anderson and wants to be the center of game. She is not, and AC should not invite her back next year.

WOW Anderson Cooper / Kathy Griffin did the best New Year's Eve ever!! I've been watching Dick Clark for years and decided to check out AC and Kathy this year..I never laughed so hard while enjoying the celebrations. Kathy is a HOOT and Anderson just makes you smile with his big grin. Great Team!!!
