Here's how you can be a part of tonight's program. Just scroll down and share your thoughts on the headlines.

Just follow our rules. Here are some of them:

1) Keep it short (we don't have time to read a "book)
2) Don't write in ALL CAPS (we don't like screaming)
3) Use your real name

Some people are so inhumanly disgusting that they disgrace humanity and make the rest of the race ashamed to share the same basic DNA profile.

That is such a horrible story. It is a really disturbing! How could someone do that to so many people?

Hello everyone - Good to see you "hardy few" joining in tonight as Erica does a splendid job pinch hitting for Anderson - even down to the point of poking fun at others like Ed Henry (and well done it was).

Too early for Congress to get the bailout blues ... we are still near the beginning of this, not the end. The Obama team will clearly need some rules to say what is worthy and what isn't - as well as a great monitoring operation to make sure that money isn't misspent. Paul Krugman in the NYT today pointed out that FDR's public works stimulus was successful in people's eyes because it was free of corruption.

Megan - on Boxing Day... it's an old English tradition that on the day after Christmas, the upper crust used to put gifts out in boxes for those who worked for them and for the poor... you can find a column in the New York Times this morning by a guest writer that gives an interesting history of Boxing Day.

    All best.... D

Boxing day in england they box up their leftovers for the poor.
The home builders should look to build afforable homes rather then the McMansions they have been building..

Erica you are doing another great job tonight! 🙂

I am so glad that you mentioned the anniversary of the Tsunami.
I was thinking about it earlier today.

Ed Henry has certainly gotten some sun covering President Elect Obama! He's usually so serious I love to see his lighter side and love that pink short! Love your sense of humour Erica! 🙂

    Happy post Christmas day 360.
As I have said before, they should have given the bailouts not from the top. but from the bottom, to the people. We would stimulate the economy.

    December 26, 2008 at 10:25 pm |
  18. Megan Dresslar- Shoreline, Wa

Oh yes..... I agree with David Gergen is talking about the retailer or economy, That is so outrage I see on sale or more bailout.

    December 26, 2008 at 10:24 pm |
  19. Hannah Marner

    To David Gergen: Amen!

    To Rikki: Hear, hear!

    December 26, 2008 at 10:22 pm |
  20. Ken in NC

David is right on the money. Somewhere down the line someone is going to have to say NO. The bailouts will have to stop some place because we are already broke as a nation.

Great to have you fililng in for our man Anderson!
I agree with you, Maureen T......... Erica is doing great job fill in for Anderson......

  22. Rikki, Fargo, ND

I completely agree with David Gergen...much ado about very little...there is nothing that says that Rahm has done anything wrong and this is just ending up being a big distraction for the transition team

Forget the bailouts for mortage companies and every other company with their hands out. Feed and clothe the citizens and let the chips fall where they may

housing.. well as we in the housing area call it to many houses and not enough buyers
to many new homes are being built,
people want to sell but there are more investors buying new houses than really new people coming into the country to buy new/old.. one of the biggest areas hit was the Vegas new homes being bought by investors from ny and Cal... that area got hit the hardest because investors put their houses up for sale and there where no buyers.... then you started to see it in other areas. like phx.. and so on
If they allow the so called illegals to be legal then there will be more buyers and help the industry
you start getting rid of people then you will even see things go down hill

Regarding: Builders Request for Bailout Money

If there were ever an easier way to promote purchases of homes and also spur the "greening" of the USA:

The promotion of solar power on residential roofs via the Utility companies, with an inculded rebate on taxes to purchasers of these homes.

Using ultra high insulation techniques also should be required to promote lessening of dependence on fossil fuels.

Should builders follow these guidelines, then offer incentives to them through some type of monetary compensation via the Bailout money.

This would spur both the "greening" of america, and also spur home purchases.....two birds with one stone.

We in Illinois who have seen this governor in operation know his attorney is just trying to get a deal cut for Blogo.

    December 26, 2008 at 10:18 pm |
  27. Carolyn

The Governor from IL reminds me of the character in the movie"dead zone" played by martin sheen. tired of hearing about him. also Pres. Clinton did not have the same kind of scandal.

    @ Stacy

The 700 BIllion should have come to the bottom of the food chain the first time so it could trickle up because we already know it does not trickle down. If we got the money we would have paid off our debts and spent and both of those would be beneficial to the economy.

The Blago drama came up at my (bi-partisan) Christmas Eve dinner table. The general consensus was that Blago is an idiot (duh) and the scrutiny on Obama is ridiculous, especially given he's hasn't even taken office yet.

    December 26, 2008 at 10:18 pm |
  30. Hannah Marner

Oh, for land's sakes, leave Rahm alone. He's not stupid; the probability of him having done anything qualifying as such in this matter is so infinitesimally small that it renders the whole matter ridiculous!

I doubt if we've heard the last of the Governor. It appears that he won't go down without taking a few others with him.

i work in retail and they just cut everyone's hours, 2 weeks ago i only worked 8 hours. now they said everyone's hours are going to be cut unless you get so many credit card applications. i made a huge deal about it when they wrote me up for getting 0 apps and told them i feel like a crook asking them to do in debt, so i got a new position with more hours...some places bring it on themselves....greed...that's why they want you to sign up for credit cards, they make tons of money off you from that!!! no bailout!!!

    Hi EH and AC360 team,

How did everyone celebrate their Christmas? I got an electric mixer as a gift from my brother, warm cookies this way!

So supposed, if Gov Blago resigned, which is not likely, because of impeachment begins, would he still be furthur investigated by the committee?

    Merry Christmas!!!

Why all this bailout talk? What about the lower and middle class? We need the jobs and money. That is the only way the economy can grow.

happy boxing day, all! hope you had a good holiday, no matter what you celebrate

I think the problem with the idea of giving the money to the citizens and hoping for a trickle up effect is that those citizens are going to save it or put it towards bill that they are behind on...they aren't going to go out and buy big-screen TVs so it wouldn't stimulate the economy any faster than giving the money to the industry.

    December 26, 2008 at 10:10 pm |
  41. Stacy

@Ken: Well, supposedly there's going to be a stimulus package on Obama's desk Jan 20, so I guess we get a bailout too. A very mini bailout. Personally, I would have rather had the $700 billion.

    December 26, 2008 at 10:09 pm |
  42. Tim

Everyone wants money from the govt. How about we all ask for a 25,000 family bailout. We might get it. Ridiculous!

    December 26, 2008 at 10:09 pm |
  43. Lorie Ann, Buellton, California

A wish list? We can't bail out everyone. The home builders made millions. Would the money go to the workers or the big shots who made a fortune with the bubble? One wonders.

    December 26, 2008 at 10:07 pm |
  44. Ken in NC

WOW Every one wants a bailout. Can I get in line too? The money should have been given to the citizens and let us spend it so it could trickle up through the monetary system.
