It's far-fetched to think that Hillary Clinton's performance of her duties as secretary of state would be influenced in any way by foreign donations to her husband's charitable foundation.
But it is naive to think that the exhaustive list of donors released yesterday by the William J. Clinton Foundation won't provoke suspicion and give rise to conspiracy theories in parts of the world where transparency is seen as nothing more than an illusion.

What does getting filthy rich have to do about ,"your legacy". Your still an unscrupulous philanthropist however you frame the picture,...
Let me see if I have this correct; while endless American jobs have gone overseas; while fewer and fewer American products are being procured; while companies are being run into the ground; while corruption has run rampant; and while there has been no oversight for eight years at any level of government or industry; people have a problem with Clinton raising money for American causes?
At least Bill, unlike George, has a legacy to worry about.
After surviving Bill's Presidency where it seems there were conspiracies everywhere I think Hilary Clinton will bend over backwards as we say in the South to be sure there is nothing questionable about anything she does. She not only doesn't want Obama to look bad, but she doesn't want herself or her husband to look bad – got to keep thinking about that legacy you know. I do wonder though after not publishing it because of confidentiality did Bill go to each donor and get permission to release their name? If he did I'm surprised its out so quick. That list is really long.

It certainly would not influence Hilary Clinton; but, yes, it is suspicious. We just heard of a governor who tried to sell a Senate seat.
