I don't see why the doctor or nurse cannot give the patient all the information about options – including the options they do not believe in – and let the patient make their own choice. If the patient chooses the option that the provider does not do then simply refer them to someone who does. In most communities its pretty well known which doctors won't prescribe birth control to unmarried women and which doctors won't do abortions so generally a person can screen those doctors out before they even make an appointment. There are doctors in other specialties that don't do certain procedures in their practice because they think they are ineffective, or too experimental, or they don't get enough requests to have built up a level of confidence in performing the procedure – they refer out. I don't see why this wouldn't work for reproductive care unless someone just wants to make an issue out of it.
