Anderson Cooper goes beyond the headlines to tell stories from many points of view, so you can make up your own mind about the news. Tune in weeknights at 8 and 10 ET on CNN.

Is caroline kennedy qualified? No.disrespect, but I think the question is rather unfair considering who the Republican candidate was for the 2nd highest office in the nation. I'd rather take my chances with Carolione.
The snl skit is just a joke. This is America. People takes shots at everyone. Humor is healthy.
Goodnight everyone.
I have been watching the shoe throwing incident over and over hoping that one of these times the president might forget to duck and actually get hit with a shoe. Funny!
What is it about this old American dynasty – the past is the past. We need regular folks in Washington. What makes Carolyn qualified? – the daughter of JFK – c'mon. This ongoing dynasty crap is becoming too much – whats next Obama's kids planning on being senators because daddy is President? Well let her campaign and we shall hear what she has to say.
New York State needs a native son, or daughter. This senate seat has not had a native New Yorker since before Sen. Moynihan.
Her uncle Teddy should retire and give her his seat, should should stay out of NYS politics ......period!
SNL skit was hilarious 🙂 Hope they do some more. What was AC's problem with it? Was just as funny as their skits on McCain's limited movement.
Governor Palin is okay but not Patterson? I thought the skit was pretty funny, all kidding aside if blind people aren't comfortable enough with themselves to be made fun of.... then tough. Freedom of speech is a right we have here in the great U.S.A., and in all seriousness it wasn't meant to demean all blind people.
Anyhow, I'd love Caroline to be Senator. She's paving the way for me to get a similar role sometime in the future.
Governor Paterson is right. People with disabilities do get discriminated against so skits, whether meant to be funny or not, do nothing but keep those stereotypes alive.
Great discussion tonight. Nite all!
Thought the SNL skit was quite funny. I don't think the govenor was as upset with the portrayal of being blind as much as the remarks about drug use.
Good Monday evening..Another week of pounding the pavement of news. ..shoes optional.. Night all
Why are we allways tend to choose poleticians based on their name recongniton ? Unlike most europeans countrysm aren't we supposed to choose poleteicans based on their experties, and their ability to serve the people who voted them?
OMG what is he talkin'? That skit was hillarious and the SNL dude looked just like the Governor, heck I thought it was him at first! I am going to be youtubing for that clip later, funny funny funny!
goodnight all!
People comparing Caroline to Hillary-Hillary had a distinguished career as a lawyer-even being elected most attorney of the year, at one point. She also ran for the Senate, rather than being appointed to that seat, twice and served 8 years. Meanwhile, Caroline has summered in the Hampton's. And, the only reason she's interested in the Senate now is because she sees an opportunity to become Senator without actually having to work for it.
Good night Anderson, Randi and best bloggers!!
Have a great night and sleep tight!!!! 🙂
See you tomorrow night!!!!!
Day of the shot with "Gov Patterson as SNL" not good idea!! LOL!!
I really did think that SNL may have gone a bit too far. It was not funny...and Anderson I totally respect you! and the fact that you don't think its your job to take a position on the stories you report...I think that is so rare these days!
Have a great evening Anderson, Randi and bloggers!
I believe Caroline Kennedy is qualified. Just as most Americans are! When asking a question like that all you have to do is look to the constitution of the united states for the answer. In other words, experience is not required nor is prior openness to one's private life. We as individuals may like to see certain qualities, life choice's and self imposed qualications. but they do not make a person qualified... or unqualifed... by federal law.
Yes, those of us in Syracuse, Utica and Schenectady are a little 'off'. Chill out Gov, it was a joke!
I guess the SNL people got a little carried away! I mean they don't exclude anyone do they?! On that note though, good night Anderson! Interesting show!!
Thanks for the debate Jon! And goodnight everyone!
good for the governor
goodnight everyone
i didnt find the SNL skit very amusing, but not offensive either.
SNL skit on Gov. Patterson was so 19th century. Let's portray a competent person with a disabiity as a bumbling idiot. How about some real satire on his positions rather than some cheap laughs aimed at the lowest common denominator SNL?
The blind are getting their PhD's, running the state of NY, riding mechanical bulls and doing pretty much everything the rest of the world does – apart from being insensitive and out of touch buffoons like the SNL cast.
Sometimes I think that people are so stupid they will laugh at anything.
