ALL those AIG bigwigs should be FIRED NOW!! Of all the things I have heard that have ticked me off about this entire "Wall Street Bailout" with luxury retreats paid for by my tax dollars etc., this loophole that AIG seems to have found in order to get around the "no bonus" condition for receipt of tax-payer dollars angers me the most!!
I want to see them all fired NOW!!
Talk about Russian Roulette..Shot of Thursday? Swimming with Sharks..Sea World it wasn't ..Night all
Looks like a Mountain Dew commercial – "think outside the cage."
We need to stop bailing out these companies; give the money directly to the people. Stop this "trickle down" theory of helping those at the top and it will hopefully trickle down to people losing their jobs. AIG is a classic example. Hello....it's not working!
Those sharks are beautiful from a distance, brave man, Anderson.
Sharks, sharks... loan sharks everywhere.....
Cut down on exec bonuses and you can retain a whole lot of other employees.
Good night everyone, be blogging with you tomorrow.
it feels like we are becoming a third world country. so much doom and gloom.
We'll be ok – but it also depends on how much patience we have. I don't have all that much.
Planet in Peril was great tonight very informative
It is very disturbing to see those children in Peru suffering from lead and chemical poisoning and not being protecting.
I also found it extremely disturbing to see sharks defined and tossed back into the water to die a painful death – FOR SOUP! – I hope this report opens many eyes and makes people think about the suffering endured just so that a person can have a tasty meal.
I hope people reconsider who they eat!
Anderson,
I am also proud of you are doing good job the documentary Planet in Peril!!!
Good night Anderson, Erica, David Gergen, and best bloggers!
Have a great night and sleep tight!!!
See you almost tomorrow night!!!
Day of the shot with Anderson was going into ocean to see shark!!! tooo scary for him and me!!! LOL!! that is so funny!!!!
Good night Anderson. I really did enjoy PIP tonight, but after watching all of that shark footage today I hope I don't have nightmares about your swim with the sharks!
Keep in mind, the UAW is only 10 percent of the costs of the auto industry...they have made many concessions...it will take dealers, shareholders, CEO's, suppliers, etc....they are just a scapegoat for the non union people to complain....
Congrats and great job on PIP: Battlines. it was terrific and i can't wait til the next one 😉
i wasn't sure if there was going to be a show tonight, but it was a good one. Thanks Anderson and Erica.
goodnight you two and everyone. 🙂
@David, Indiana: My concern is that Congress is dragging this Big 3 decision out way too long! It will be another week or so now before anything gets resolved either way is all. Wall Street will react to this news. Only time will tell what that reaction will be but it doesn't sound promising is all.
The non bailout of the autoworkers will have an adverse affect here in Ontario, Canada as well. We have a few GM plants that are just about the major employers in some communities.
David, I hope you will consider the larger picture. We can get those same workers jobs with companies that will last because they don't have the stupid disease. We can make the transition for the longer term good of America. The larger picture is if they bail them out it is continuance of the very policies which led us to where we are now. Courage! We can do it, we can be better. We're Americans. Let them file, dissolve, and we'll hand it over to the new generation who do us all better.
I think AIG should write thier policies on rolls about five inches wide and put perferations every five inches and a nice soft paper.
I think that is what our congress bought with the bailout money.
Goodnight Anderson, Erica and bloggers! Have a good weekend! Planet in Peril was incredible!...Yeah who would be crazy enough to swim with sharks without a cage? I think I would rather take on Michael Phelps! 🙂
David G. the UAW has been just as greedy as the CEO's. Why save those jobs, when they can declare Chapter 11, break the union contracts and go back in business with competitive labor costs? Supply and Demand!
Anderson, I saw PIP tonight, and that was really brave of you to be there with the sharks without the protection of the cage. It was a great program. You, Lisa, and Sanjay did a great service to the world by bringing us PIP2. Thank you.
That fool is you – That's correct Anderson!
going into chapter 11 could collapse them? they're already collapsed! that could only help them. if that's what they really want.
Down with AIG – Fire the executives then arrest them!
Retention payments to keep talent on board? What a joke. If these high level employees were so talented to begin with the company would be in a much stronger position. It is time that upper-management worked on fixing the company and not spending time going to spas and scheming ways to milk more money out of the company. Where is the AIG czar to take back the loans given to that company?????
it feels like we are becoming a third world country. so much doom and gloom.
you, anderson, you are the crazy fool! lol
I just think we need a full fledge revolt in the country! Average American's who turn the wheels of commerce in this country are screwed and it's high time we recognize that as consumer's it is us that really has control over our government and coporate profit!!!!!!
Again, great job with Planet in Peril, your team really puts themselves out their to expose issues that would otherwise be ignored. Thank you. We all need to step up, great blogging everyone. I hope everyone has a great day on Friday. Good Night
the airlines filed for chapter 11, what's the problem?
