Morning Buzz: How much is a Senate Seat worth to you?

Illinois folks must be waking up w/a huge headache following their Governor Blagojevich getting Busted big time yesterday. Massive self-delusion apparently doesn’t work well for all of us, because this guy had a healthy dose of it. Today is his 52nd birthday, but somehow I don’t think he’ll be blowing out a cake and making a wish. Or maybe he will. What do u think his birthday wish should be?

There are various federal corruption charges against him, the most astonishing of which is that he would auction off P-E Obama’s now vacated senate seat to the highest bidder. In his own words “it’s a bleeping valuable thing, you don’t just give it away for nothing”. Rightttt.

Officials are calling for him to do the decent thing and step aside and/or trying to remove him. Officials will try to find a way to strip him of his power to appoint a US Senator. P-E Obama is keeping a safe distance, he said he was ‘saddened and sobered’ by the news about the Governor but knew nothing about the pay to play tactics to fill his vacated senate seat.

Speaking of Obama’s Senate seat, it is being auctioned off on e-bay. The actual wood and leather seat he used as Illinois State Senator is going for $$ millions in bidding. Isn't there a Recession, peeps?

There's a hearing to examine oversight concerns regarding the $700 bin dollar rescue pkg passed, and much criticism over the govts handling of the bailout. Does this come as a surprise? Joe Johns has a pkg on where this money has gone so far. Have u felt the effects of the bailout trickle down to you? I know what your answer will be.

And this auto bailout better resolve quickly, because soaps are sinking! “All My Children” and Days of our Lives have weathered more than one economic recession but are now in danger of dying off. Local automotive industries are traditionally the meat and potatoes of daytime tv ad dollars and they are spending significantly less-some nothing at all. Susan Lucci is reportedly taking a pay cut for her role as Erica Kane. What is this world coming to?

We are still Going Green on our screen, promoting Anderson’s 2 hour documentary Thursday night 9-11pET, Planet in Peril. We'll tease you tonight with an exotic snippet. See u then!

Yep, definitely the man is out of touch with reality. He honestly acted as though he was above all reason. ...and they say that money is the source of all evil. I am counting on the fact that political desire is mostly fueled by the "to seek and find" power-driven individuals.

From what I remember of past holidays the holiday specials are usually well supported by the automotive industry as well. Will "A Charlie Brown's Christmas" or "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" be a casualty of the recession too? And what about the Grinch and that old miser Scrooge?

Seriously though, I wonder what kind of effect the recession will have on the charities that help the poor and homeless this year – the food pantries, soup kitchens, the salvation army, the empty stocking fund, etc. We may all be cutting back on our Christmas spending but hopefully we will still be able to support these worthwhile charities with our dollars and our time.

Team 360 why are the people at CNN trying to make this about
PE Obama. Patrick Fitzgerald went out of his way to say there are
no allegations against Obama. So why was there a segment with
Obama's graphic in the background that gave the impression that
the PE was trying to sale his Senate seat ? Why was there not a
graphic of Gov Blagojevich , who is the one actually accused of
doing this in the complaint . Good thing the press conference is
on the internet unfiltered and unedited . People know this is about
Blagojevich and not PE Obama. Can we get some real journalism
    here ?

Seeing how stupid Blagojevich was by keeping on talking the whole time that he knew the FBI was watching him then he is probably just like OJ and thinks that he will beat this rap too. So today he will probably have a birthday celebration just like there is nothing wrong. Some people just have no common sense or sense of decency and he seems to be one of them. He'll probably hang on to his governor spot as long as he can. So they'll probably have to give him the boot to get rid of him.

And just for the record....PIP2 is Lisa, Sanjay and Anderson's show...since they did a lot of work also. Just keeping you honest!
