The carnage in Bombay (officially known as Mumbai), in which gunmen have killed over a hundred people, injured many more and taken hostages, has shocked the world. It has thrown a spotlight on religious extremism of various kinds.
While a group calling itself the Deccan Mujahideen has claimed responsibility, the most high-profile victim was anti-terrorist unit head Hemant Karkare, who just two days before had received a death threat for his investigation of violent Hindu supremacists. His death, along with two other senior police officers, Ashok Kamte and Vijay Salaskar, is a blow to efforts to make Bombay safe for residents and visitors from all creeds and communities.

Hi Anderson, My comments can be a bit emotional but this is what many in India believe.
Many times the investigation(ers) looks for answers to the question "Who attacked" and "how it happened". But many(all) in India today are not looking for comic description of how good the terrorist were. But to the answer `How can we stop it from happening again`. And i am not talking yet another attack like this. But at a much higher level.
Its easy to blame Pakistan, which I am confident are behind this. Reminds me when ex PM of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif was talking of peace the then Mr Musharaf and his ISI with terrorist attacked India from Kargil. Today when Mr Gilani and Mr Zardari are talking of Peace we have more brazen attack on Mumbai. It will be very hard to be a coincidence. But the question is 'should Pakistan to be blamed for it'. No i dont think so. They are in constant fight with India since 1947. In three wars they understood that no way can they win over India in direct combat. So they have started proxy wars, Kashmir, Khalistan(Punjab), Indian Mujahedeen, LeT and others are only many faces of it.
But should we blame them or blame ourselves of being so lax with almost every thing. Our judicial system take forever to conclude a case, investigations are marred by politics, corruption is very widespread, bullying is so common – terrorists are the last thing we are afraid of etc. (list is too long).
I think we are one who should stop think and then act to clean our society and our systems. we have a very good precedence to it. The fight for Khalistan (Punjab). India was able win over extermism, terror, Pakistan everything. That was because we were able to get together, collect the moderate forces, be strict and strong against the extremists forces (thanks to the then Head of Punjab police KPS Gill – a Sikh himself), strong in securing our borders on Punjab to stop the Pakistani elements to come to take the youth to Pakistan and train them, worked with the social infrastructure to highlight well being, jobs and other infrastructure in Punjab, a complete 360 degree work, (by the way the basics that govt should do) and won it over.
We need to deploy the same tactics: First our politicians should accept it that we are facing Islamic Terrorism, find the extremist and moderate forces and strong holds, Punish the extermist forces and promote the moderate forces, empower moderate forces to stand in the Mosque across India and talk about job opportunities, social services, education, family welfare and take the podium from extremists who stand in the Mosques and talk about terrorism, Anti America, Anti India, words like Kafir(Sinister because he is not Muslim), Haram (Impure because it is not Islam), praises for Al Qaeda and terrorists who are now Islamic Martyrs etc.
Till we attack the problem from all sides Force- most important, Social welfare (no free stuff please, no reservations that will lead to hindu extermism and show our loss I mean promoting moderates and making more moderates) and creating a job opportunities not just for Muslims but overall this problem will continue to stay.
Coming to Pakistan, they are at war with us. lets face it and accept it. There are ways of winning this war secure our own country with better intelligence and more decision making power with the armed forces than politicians, international pressure on Pakistan – remember Washington only now after 60 years of creation of Pakistan and hence ISI and its dubious motives is talking about wrong acts of ISI, this is because US is facing it first hand in Afghanistan and we were a complete fail to get others to understand this, Punish Pakistan in international arena – its a vulnerable country who cannot stand of its own it needs others to give crutches. And lets face it Pakistan is also facing the same problem as we are so help them overcome them as we are planning to do.
It is not Pakistan`s problem anymore its all our problem, India`s problem. Lets not let it become World`s problem and we miss another chance of becoming a big daddy of Pakistan and rather be a sitting duck to the rising problem in the world called `Pakistan and Islaminc Terrorism`

latest news : one terrorists captured alive. he confessed that group of terrorist came to mumbai by hijacked indian boat, all the way from karachi. he told police that they were trained in muzafarabad in pakistan occcupied kashmir. terrorist beheaded captain of the boat. captured terrorist reported he had no regret for killing people.
Unfortunate, I failed to access the full article; however, what is happening in Mumbay (Bombay) is a tragedy and failure of security system. Two days after Bombay attack and the situation remain unfold. Unlike, suicide bombers, terrorists use new tactic in their attack, which remain viable and active. It is not fully clear, who organize this crime and what is the motivation, but India is blaming their neighborhood for breeding terrorists. Indeed, what is going on in India make India-Pakistan conflict more complex.
