It will be interesting to see who these terrorists are (or were) and where they came from. They appear to be quite young – very similar to a dozen or more young men who recently vanished from the Somali community in Minneapolis – most of whom were found to have returned to Somalia to assist Al Queda's insurgency by blowing themselves up. We need to addrress the global terrorist recruiting effort ongoing just beneath our noses.

I don't think we know who did this or why, we're still combing through the details we have and finding out, it's hard to know exactly what this attack is.

Ravi, it does not matter. A life is a life and death is death. I think some on the blog were trying just to sort through the information earlier. We know the world is very upset with the Americans right now. We know India is a democratic nation with a female President.

Here a quote from her website. I think some of us are trying to say this or thinking this.

" I am deeply committed to the cause of education and would like to see every person, man and woman, boy and girl, be touched by the light of modern education. Empowerment of women is particularly important to me as I believe this leads to the empowerment of the nation" Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil, President of India

Peace to All and Good Night!

This carnage is sickening. As a Pakistani Muslim I can't see the point of destoying human life. It is against all precepts of Islam and all religons. This is not a religous situation but a political one. Do these terrorists really think they can take over the world by such death and destsruction?. Who is funding them? How are they so well coordinated and so efficient? Why were the Indian secret service not able to pick up intelligence that could have stopped this mess. This is all heart breaking and sickening. Innocent lives lost and for what? The World must become a place of peace and tolerance for all. Nothing can be achieved by violence, dialogue is the key.

    David,
CNN and Erica is doing an excellent job as usual. If we could remove the politics from an effort to combat forms of terrorism, nations could really benefit from an international effort similar to an
Interpool... something that could really be an effective counter terrorism agency.
