What’s wrong with being a Muslim?

Campbell Brown asked recently "So what if Obama were a Muslim or an Arab?" on her show, Election Center.  Here's one iReporter's personal response: Why is someone being a Muslim a bad thing? It's a religion that so many people in this country practice. Why is it a negative thing?

There is nothing wrong with being a Muslim unless you are an extremist. After 9/11, we have seen what those of the Muslim faith have done around the world. We, although may be sterotyping, equate these actions with the Muslim faith. In Obama's case, his associates, whether Muslim or not have extremist views of this country.
Obama's problem is not of being a Muslim or a former Muslim, it's Wright, Pflger, Ayers, Rezko, and ACORN to name a few. There are more but whenever I try to post these people I am censored.

    Absolutely nothing.
Muslims did save science, medicine and math back in the Middle Ages when Christians were burning doctors as witches.

Fundamentalist Muslims, who interpret the Koran literally and exaggeratedly following a political lead, is not Islam. It is a similar to comparing American Christian Fundamentalists – who diverge greatly from the principles of Christianity – to Christianity.
