Maybe that guy who had to be jet skiied out with his children and pets will heed the warnings next time.

Seems like the rain in Clute, Texas is getting heavy

Is the video being shown as Rick Sanchez reports video of Galveston Bay?

Can those buildings in downtown Houston withstand 125mph winds,I'm sure they can but I wonder?

Stay safe when Ike gets to Houston Anderson.

That's extensive flooding in Louisiana before ike has gotten to Texas

Good night Anderson, Erica, everyone blogging

Robing, good idea. Perhaps people who ignore warnings so need rescuing should pay something towards the cost of being rescued, according to their ability to pay.

Did I hear correctly, someone's dog got washed out to sea????
Are there pet protocols in place????
I do not want a repeat scene of Katrina with everything that was learned from that.

Good Friday evening. My thoughts go out to all of you being hit hard by Ike. I hope when the morning comes, the damage will not be as bad as it has been predicted. Take care. Night all

    David Gergen:
I agree a break from the campaign would be nice but unfortunately, I'd much rather it be for something more pleasant and not Hurricane Ike. Personally, I would love to hear more about the candidates and their leadership skills. Where I work, we have "360 degree" reviews based on our company's leadership model. That means co-workers, subordinates, and bosses all evaluate us on our leadership. I would love to see something like that done with these presidential and vice-presidential candidates and then shared with the voters. It would be very telling and way better than the personality contest.

    Thanks AC360. Stay safe.

I'm on the other side of the river from Morgan City, LA, and the wind is still blowing here. Well, stay safe all. I'm shutting it down and going to bed. Not a lot I can do about any of this. Just praying all are o.k. when this is over.
