McCain has a strong woman? Well, the Obama campaign wants voters to know they've got one, too, and they're going to deploy her to crush the moose hunting hockey mom from Alaska. In a strange twist of logic, the Obama campaign is touting the woman they passed over as the woman they need to beat the woman the other guy picked.
The New York Times reports that "Mrs. Clinton's campaign event in Florida, her first for Mr. Obama since the Democratic convention, will serve as a counterpoint to the searing attacks and fresh burst of energy that Ms. Palin injected into the race with her convention speech on Wednesday, Obama aides said."
So, let's get this straight. They didn't choose her and her 18 million voters to put on the ticket. They gave the VP spot to Joe Biden. But now that Sarah Palin has arrived on the political scene, they're promoting Hillary as the female answer to the Republican VP nominee. Awkward, to say the least.
And as one female democratic strategist tells me, don't think that Hillary hasn't noticed.

Why is it that most libs think that every republican plan is thought up by Rove and executed by brainwashed lemming followers?
The democrat talking points are repeated endlessly in the media, How do the conservatives then get their marching orders?
If the libs actually believe the dribble they post, they should be terrified of the conservatives ability to operate collectively and purposefully toward a common goal.
Or could it just be that conservatives use common sense to come up with a plan and the libs have to invent conspiracy theories to justify their hairbrained policies?
We know Sarah Palin won't get the Hillary votes. Sarah stands for the opposite of everything Hillary stands for. Sarah is a conservative, strong figure. There are many Americans who agree with Sarah Palin's views that would never have voted for Hillary. Is she qualified to be VP? If Obama and Hillary are qualified to be President, I don't see how she's not qualified to be VP. Hillary was not the President-what executive experience does she have? Oh, it doesn't matter, because she's not the candidate. Instead, it's a young man, who because of the media, has been absolved of his involvement with questionable characters. Do we really believe he went to church (for 20 years)under Wright and never heard the racist, anti-american talk from him? He doesn't sound sincere when he comes up with answers asked by the media, because it's not what he believes. He is very liberal, and for political gain, has to temper that to a more moderate opinion. I was not very excited about John McCain being selected, but voting for Hillary or Obama was still not an option. I am now excited about the Republican ticket. I believe he couldn't have selected a better running mate for this campaign.
I also have to say, over the past 8 years, George Bush has been blamed not only for his Executive decisions, but also for every bad decision made by Congress. I don't agree with every choice he has made, but I know we don't have a dictatorship, and everything that comes from Washington, doesn't necessarily come from the President. I also realize that the Congress (with a Democratic majority over the past 2 years), have been very partisan with it's decisions. And it's two members from that same Congress, that are on the Democratic ticket. McCain/Palin 2008!!
Why this double standard? Why does the media ask different questions of Sarah Palin just because she is a woman? I couldn't believe my ears when I heard on CNN that she had been asked to take a test to see if the baby is hers? Were the 3 mail candidates asked to take a parental test? Give the women a break!! Are we held to different standards only because we are female? The fathers are parents just as we women are. Why the big deal about her daughter being pregnant? Wasn't Obama born to a single mother?
Its incredible that people are so obsessed with Palin's history when they hardly know anything about it. When were these issues brought up regarding Obama's sleazy politics in Chicago.He shouldn't be the nominee at all. The DNC fixed this election and ignored the true Democrats who voted for Clinton in overwhelmiing numbers.Obama won Caucus states with a few thousand participants that gamed the system. In November, we Democrats get to really vote, 1 person/1vote, they won't be able to game that. So many of us Democrats are so disgusted by the treatment of the Clintons by the DNC, we've decided to give the Republicans another look. Don't blame us that the slash and burn tactics used by Obama and the DNC has backfired on them.
Do the women of this great country appear to be easily manipulated by a scheme such as this one? We see what McCain is trying to do here and the women I know say No Way McCain! We do not want an inexperienced unknown to be a heartbeat away from the presidency. We know this is Karl rove's last gasp and we also know you were forced to go along.
We see just how uncomfortable you are standing next to Sarah Palin, picking at your fingernails. Knowing how pit bulls are, you had better be real careful that she doesn't get rid of you so she can be top dog.
Sorry to say, John, you and Karl's scheme will not work. We, the American women are just too smart for you both!

Republicans controlled the senate for 5 months in 2001, when Bernie Sanders (VT) switched to Independent and caucused with the Democrats. From June 2001 until January 2003, Democrats controlled the Senate. Since January 2007, Democrats have held the Senate. Republicans had the Senate for a little over 4 years of Bush's presidency. When Bush leaves office, the time the Senate was held by both parties will have been evenly split.
All this energy wasted on BS. Neither candidate cares about the issues most americans care about. It is time for people to vote for a 3rd candidtae. It is time for a revolution to get some real people and not just BIG CORPORATE PUPPETS as real viable candidates. Make history and vote GREEN.
This is evidence that Obama is worried. He is so arrogant though, he will not even admit when he is wrong (like the surge). Well, I don't think Hillary should ablige him. She probably wants McCain/Palin to win anyways, so she can run in 4 years.
I strongly believe McCain/Palin is the ticket, it's just too bad all the media only shows the left side.
I am personally offended that the McCain campaign thinks that women who supported HRC will now "fall in line" and support some unknown, brash, slanderous female that is only doomed to step in it as deep as her hip-waders will go!

Obama picking Biden over Hillary for his VP will go down in history as the stupidest campaign strategy blunder ever. Hillary got more votes than Obama during the primaries. They could have had a "dream" ticket. But Hillary wasn't even vetted. Picking Biden over Hillary makes no sense at all. It shows terrible judgment or arrogance from Obama. I don't see why Hillary should go all out for Obama now. She's better off having him lose now so she can run in 2012.
Let's get this straight. Spotlight loving Obama didn't want Hillary as VP because she is smarter and more down to earth than he is. He figured his "superstar status" was enough to propel him straight to the Whitehouse. Now that he realizes Hollywood is for the superstars, and Americans are looking for a real, not manufactured candidate, he wants Hillary? I guess the Republicans were right when they said Biden should get the VP thing in writing.

Frankly,......I'm tried already of the distractions from the real issues that affect the economy not being discussed.......I don't care if she is apart of the Trailer Court mom's for McCain .......where does she stand on unemployment, taxes, health care, and needless to say the war.......she gave an 1/2 hour speech on her resume and her accomplishments for Alaska........the defeat of the good old boys club.......but what is her world vision.......how does she sees the US in such changing economic times as these...........how does she plan to assist McCain in pushing back the oil rich barrens such as.......VP Chaney ( who by the way has been an absentee to any of the Republican events)........and I wonder if she had not had a special needs child would this ever had been an issue for her to speak on..... First of all, moose are no big deal. They've got extremely poor eyesight. You can stand right in front of them and they peer down at you and squint.
If you can't shoot a moose, you're a lousy shot. They're big, they're slow, and they stare and squint a lot. You certainly don't need an AK-47 for the job.
They used to wander into our backyard when I was a kid. You just wave your arms and yell a little. They look at you kind of confused and then they leave.
As for the "hockey mom" thing, Sarah Palin has one boy who has been out of school for awhile. She's got 3 girls, and then a male baby. I'm betting it's been awhile since she's been a "hockey mom". Taping a hockey stick for your kid is no big deal anyway.
I grew up in the sticks too. I really don't think it's a selling point to describe oneself as "Ellie Mae Clampit".

When will Sarah Palin discuss the issues? She is on the campaign trail today repeating almost line for line the same things she said at her acceptance speech.
But when will she submit to a press interview? When will she answer questions on health care, housing foreclosures and foreign policy? We need to see her answer questions without the protective shell of McCain staff members. She needs to submit to press interviews today.
Anyone that admires Palin's behavior are obviously would never miss a match of the WWF. I hope you can support this cheerleader as you continue to pay your light bill, your grocery bill and fill up your tanks.
Palin is no Hillary. If any of you were watching the Republican Convention youmay have noticed that there wasvery little representatin of many ethnic groups. America is not only inhabited by white republicans. If you were watching the Democratic Convention you would have notice a repersentation of the real America. If Hillary gets involved Palin is in trouble.

As a former Hillary supporter I would NEVER consider voting for Palin.
First and formost, I don't trust anyone, who is so thrilled with killing that they want to do it from a helicopter. Killing defenseless animals for FUN is unacceptable for anyone much less a VP. Having respect for what God has created and encouraging good stewardship of this planet we are in charge of is very important to me as a voter and I would pray that other voters would agree.
I would hope that a woman would bring PEACE.
Palin is a fraud in my opinion and a scary choice.

I love how the GOP and all thier supporters like Ms. Holmes love to say that Obama somehow "disrespected" woman by not picking Hillary as his VP.
Obama picked his VP that he believed (1) would be ready to be President if something happened to him (2) someone that would challenge him instead of telling him what he wants to hear and (3) someone that he could work with daily to get things done in Washington and I think Obama got it right by picking Biden. Once again demostrating his great judgement.
As a woman I am offended by McCain VP pick. Anybody with common sense knows that the only reason why he picked Palin was to attract upset Hillary supporters. You can try and pass her off as the greatest thing since slice bread but @ the end of the day this is just another lame attempt by the GOP to win an election by any means necessary. How is this putting the "country first". Do you really believe that if something happened to McCain she would be ready to take office on the next day. McCain campaign must not think so because she can't even speak to the media until that finish brainwashing her. This a joke!
How degrading that rather than focus on such a historical moment in political history, CNN and other media sensationalize and exaggerate these two women politicians by referring to them as girls and edging them on like they are in a cat fight.

First, Alaska does NOT have the lowest high school graduation rate in the country. It doesn't have the highest, but certainly not the lowest, and certainly not as low as those education paradises like Baltimore, DC or Los Angeles (All run by Democrats and their teacher union bosses).
Second, most people don't live in big cities. In fact, you are in the minority, you small-minded snob.
Third, just because Obama has a "foreign-sounding" name does not mean that he knows anything about foreign policy, military affairs, economics, or any of those other topics you mention. Offering to meet unconditionally with ruthless dictators and tyrants is not a foreign policy. Using other people's money for government programs is NOT an economic policy. Installing a socialistic health care system in the U.S. does not provide health care for all, just lower quality health care for everyone.
Finish eating whatever vegetarian meal you're having, eat a piece of meat –it's rich in protein, so it'll grow your brain–and then try to have an intelligent conversation.

1) Hillary was planning to campaign for Obama before Palin was ever chosen for VP!
2) The Hillary Supporters who would cross over to the Republican side because she wasn't chosen for Obama's VP were never Hillary Supporters in the first place. Interesting to learn that the related viruses of progressivism and insufferable snobbery flourish even in Alaska. However, given Sarah Palin's sky-high approval ratings in her home state, I suspect Jackie S. is expressing the views of a rather trivial minority.
I see no problem with Barack asking of Hillary's services. Mccain did it when he picked Palin. He picked a Hillary counterfeit! On the surface, both woman, but when you really examine it she's no Hillary at all. What's worse is this is sexism at its best. Was she picked on her accomplishments first ? No! She was pick first because she's a woman! Isn't this like affirmative action? I want my resume to speak for me, not my race or gender. How do women want to viewed? Brains first, Looks second, or the other way around?
