Applause please. 360 is back on the air tonight. I'm sure you missed us this during the Republican National convention. Right?
It's a busy night here in the newsroom.
Check out that photo. I get it. Surfers like the rough surf when a tropical storm or hurricane is churning up the ocean. But please be careful. Don't get hurt.
Right now, the outerbands of Tropical Storm Hanna are pounding the South Carolina coast. Hanna has 70 mph winds, but it could pick up speed and become a hurricane before landfall. We have reporters along the coast of the Carolinas and we'll bring you the latest.
The storm is then expected to move up the east coast and dump a lot of rain. If you live anywhere between the Carolinas and Boston expect a washout on Saturday. No sunshine, courtesy of Hanna.
Tonight, we're also on the trail with just 60 days left till Election Day. It's the final stretch, now that the conventions are history. The McCain camp got a shot of energy from his VP pick, Sarah Palin. There's still a lot a buzz about the Alaska governor. Tonight, we'll look at the gender factor. There's all this talk on the blogs and elsewhere where some voters are talking about whether a mother of five children can do a good job as V.P. I just have to point out - you don't hear that ever about a male candidate. So, is there a double standard when it comes to women in politics. Share your thoughts.
We'll have that and more tonight at 10pm ET. Hope you can join us.
And, have a great weekend (hopefully Hanna won't ruin it, if you live along the East coast, like me)

I was one of those mothers questioning how Palin could accept this position with a new infant, a little one and two teenagers. However, after watching her with her family and seeing the extended family (Aunts, Cousins, Grandparents) and clearly seeing their involvement, I get it. I just wonder how they are going to be able to still have this support in D.C. when they are all in Alaska?
I was a "Peggy Noonan", but now I'm waiting and watching. Time will tell. I really hope she doesn't crumble under the intense media scrutiny. And when I say she, I mean Piper.
