I think Hillary Clinton will be nominee for VP , and it will be great idea

Biden did some pretty good bashing of Obama in the primaries. He'll have to explain why he said Obama wasn't ready then, but magically is now.

This whole VP thing is getting curiouser and curiouser...maybe it will be the rabbit in Alice in Wonderland. Joe looks like he's the one...but kathleen Sibelius looks good too. Maybe I'll add popcorn to the supply of coffee tonight.

It's interesting how everyone is concerned that if Biden gets it, he will have to learn to keep his mouth shut. I actually like that he tells it like he sees it. Keeps things real.

I am one of those on the fence. I'm a staunch supporter of Hillary and I feel that Obama can't win without her. A ticket without Hillary won't necessarily make me vote for McCain but it makes my decision that much harder.

As an undecided voter leaning toward Obama, all I know is this better be good. A text message about Joe Biden just doesn't do it for me.

Maybe we are waiting for a three AM text message. I am disappointed that Hillary was not on short list. I hope Obama has a good explanation for this.

Wow, what a circus.....I can't believe CNN actually has cameras planted outside these people's homes.

I really don't care who he taps for VP. Not voting for him anyway.

I cant wait for my text tomorrow morning in my way to work. And rush to come home to watch Cnn for the most analysis. I am a young voter and I can't wait for november.

I am a registered Democrat. If Obama doesn't pick Hillary, I will not vote. I think it is disgusting that he did not even vet her. I was going to vote for him, but if this is the way he treats her how can we trust him if he is elected. Big mistake on his part. She was treated very bad by the press during the primaries and now she is getting the same treatment from someone who wants my vote. NO WAY!

This is an exciting time for our nation. We can heal. We are broken and we need to heal.
I love Hillary but I think it is Senator Joe Biden

    August 22, 2008 at 10:16 pm |
  20. Chris

I liked Hillary but I don't think it could have worked out. In a debate against the republicans, they would've made her defend or renounce her ads and arguements that she used against Obama. Either way would have not been easy to look good.

    Is cnn watching hillarys home?

    August 22, 2008 at 10:16 pm |

I like Bidden and think that he is really a good pick. He's tough and will be able to put Senator McCain in his place with all the negativity that he has put out there.

Erica: I can just imagine all of you comparing notes in the morning about what time you got the text....

Mark my words – it's Al Gore!! Biden would be great – but he's a decoy. Remember the press flying off to Chicago while Obama met with Hillary?
They're good at throwing the press off the mark...
Al Gore – wouldn't THAT energize the Democratic base? Wouldn't he be a fine balance between experience and change? He's perfect – even if he declared a long time ago that he wasn't interested.

The republicans would wet their pants – "didn't see that coming!"

i think it is hillarious how the media is posted outside their houses, as if they have not learn how to dodge the paparazzi

Looks like Biden. Now it's time to get out and hit back hard at the Republican propaganda machine.

Didn't Biden go to Georgia for Obama?

    Buenas tardes everyone,

I was hoping for Gov. Richardson – with beard (joke) but will support whomever Barack picks. Hillary is my Senator, and I'd like to see her ultimately on the Supreme Court.

Hi, everyone. Well... at least the field has narrowed a bit! But Jimmy is right, not a lot of sleeping for the CNN team tonight.

It will be interesting to compare (maybe on Sun, when we've had a chance to breathe – and had some rest) who got the text when, since they are apparently being sent in waves by area code.

    August 22, 2008 at 10:13 pm |

Hey, How do you know if you'll be getting the text. Do you have to sign up somewhere or what?

If Obama picks Biden, it would really appear to be an upside down ticket.

Im still holding out hope that its Hillary!

If Obama picks Colin Powell, it would be a major coup and none of the networks are watching his house.

I think announcing VP in the morning takes away the excitement. Should have been down tonight because now we are hearing who isn't going to be it.

    August 22, 2008 at 10:11 pm |
  38. David, Indiana

I think Hillary should have been vetted too, but it's Sen Obama's choice. Thanks Candy Crowley we could get surprised.

Since I have to work at 6:30am, I will be asleep but waking up about 4:30...so that text can serve as an early wake-up call.

You can't have a carnival if the audience doesn't show up...my biggest laugh has been seeing the major media outlets stalking people's houses...anfd if he isn't the pick, Biden may be laughing the loudest!!

I also cant wait for my text. hopefully i can still get it here in the philippines.
I think Richardson has done great things for his state. the NewMexico economy has grown, unlike CA. Maybe he is a man of action rather than words.

I guess I'll have to stay up all night as opposed to trying to wake up at 3:00 AM. The coffee pot is on. Happy waiting everyone!

Clinton has been in the spotlight one way or another for 16 years. No vetting needed.

    HI John/Erica,

For my money HRC is the obvious choice This will unite the Democrats I thought Obama would be smart enough to realize

    August 22, 2008 at 10:06 pm |
  45. MaryBeth

Clinton was never vetted? Really? I would have thought she would have at least been vetted, just because.

That famous American P.T. Barnum once said, "There's a sucker born every minute".

From up here it sure looks like Barack Obama knows how to run a solid carnival...I mean campaign.

I'm glad Gov. Bill Richardson is not going to be his choice. This man talks to much and says little to nothing.
