An Obama-Kennedy ticket?

[cnn-photo-caption image=http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/08/20/art.kennedyobama.jpg caption="Caroline Kennedy, head of the Obama VP search team, waves to supporters of Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama."]
Editor's note: This open letter to Caroline Kennedy from Michael Moore appears on his website. What do you make of Moore's suggestions?

Dear Caroline,

We've never met, so I hope you don't find this letter too presumptuous or inappropriate. As its contents involve the public's business, I am sending this to you via the public on the Internet. I knew your brother John. He was a great guy, and I know he would've had a ball during this thrilling and historic election year. We all miss him dearly.

Barack Obama selected you to head up his search for a vice presidential candidate. It appears we may be just days (hours?) away from learning who that choice will be.

The media is reporting that Senator Obama has narrowed his alternatives to three men: Joe Biden, Evan Bayh and Tim Kaine. They're all decent fellows, but they are far from the core of what the Obama campaign has been about: Change. Real change. Out with the old. And don't invade countries that pose no threat to us.

After reading the letter, it seemed more like Moore was fawning over her rather than convincing her. He layed it on a bit too heavy! I don't think Caroline will go for it but you never know....

I think that Moore is enttiled to his opinion just like everyone else and he should be entitled to do that without people calling him stupid. Surely people can come up with something better than that, and if they can't they should perhaps keep their opnions to themselves.

Novel Idea Caroline Kennedy as VP. Practical No.

If Obama team thought it would get votes he will.

I think Caroline Kennedy would be a great VP – and if you read Moore's letter completely and closely you would have read what experience she has – its as much as Obama's experience but that doesn't seem to make a difference to all the Obama supporters. Obama needs some excitement in his campaign again – this would sure provide it. Biden, Bayh, and Kaine just leave you feeling kind of flat despite the fact that Biden and Bayh are wonderful experienced senators.

I find it funny that some of those who support Obama and said his lack of experience doesn't matter suddenly find experience a game changer for the VP. What's up with that?

Well two people with no experience,we might as well go for broke and add Michelle Obama, and his grandmother to the ticket, maybe all four could amount to one good thought.

I think she is wonderful and agree a place in the Obama administration may be better than a VP pick at this time...

    Blind leading the blind.

the election is not about electing a "American idol" but it's about electing someone that can lead the country to prosperity.

Please! This is just what we need. More profound insight and advice from Michael Moore. Give me a break! Democrats - You would do well to cut your ties with Hollywood. Most of the people working there don't even have high school diplomas! Certainly your views are worth more than their uninformed and self-serving opinions. There has to be more intelligence in the Democrat party than this. But then, I can see how the celebrity candidate would draw people the likes of Michael Moore out of the works. I guess if Obama is elected, we can expect more Hollywood types to offer their advice. As if People magazine weren't enough! Please....

    I THINK IT"S A LOVELY IDEA!!!

Bush apparently thought he could do the job because his father, why can't she?

This won't happen but I admire Michael's chutzpah.

I am a Kennedy lore fan, the name is part of the permanent political landscape, arguably, it's darkest hour and brightest moments.
Let's leave Caroline and her family alone though Mr. Moore.
She has accomplished the one thing her mother and father wanted for their children, a life.

Great the Blind leading the Blind", the women can't even give an entire paragraph of words let alone anything noteworthy, has anyone ever heard her speak she gives the impression she is under sedation , Democrates prove over and over how brain dead they are, It is worth mentioning she has zero accomplishments and so does Obama, so there you have a match of incompetance, Mr. Moore needs to have his stomach and his mouth stappled.

Surely your joking? I like Caroline Kennedy albeit I don't know the woman! But, as Obama's VP? She is a very intelligent lady and certainly comes from great stock but C'Mon let's get serious.

Further proof that Michael Moore really is delusional. It's bad enough Obama is a no name with zero experience. Let's have a name with no experience as his running mate. Yeah right.

well if experience has taken the United States into the critical conditions we the people face today, maybe this team up would correct experiences mistakes.

few individuals had an issue when republican Arnold Governor of California became the leader with absolutely no experience in Government, so I find this is a weak argument to say this will not work for the nation .

As hard as it was to do, Michael Moore actually found someone with less experience than Obama. Great choice. She'll cost Obama 20 million votes.

Fabulous Choice, and as Renee, for Once I Agree With Everything in Michael Moore's Letter,
Obama could do Worse with Several Choices, But None Would Be Better to Help Him Win in November, than a Kennedy on the Ticket !!
And In 8 Years, She Could Run as Our Next President, A Woman !!

Ronald Reagan made Bedtime for Bonzo ,so it follows that Barack should pick Michael Moore for Vice President ,as that makes as much non-sense as Caroline Kenndy the VP pick !!

Michael Moore should stick to what he does best, America hating, annoying corporations and stalking CEO's.

Caroline Kennedy is a private citizen and has been her entire life. She has seen what politics has done to her entire family. I can not imagine that she would be interested.

Take a pill, Cindy was saying Michael Moore 's idea was dumb. Not Caroline herself. That is percisely why she woul run not walk away from this as fast as she could. Besides who wants to be haunted by their mother for the rest of their lives? Don't think Jackie would not do it either. She put far too much time and effort raising civilized human beings for them to turn into politicians. (My apologies to Maria Shriver and her branch of the clan.)

Caroline is a lovely, gorgeous and extremely bright person, but she's not her father or her uncles, and she has absolutely no political experience. She'd make a poor VP choice and that choice would ruin the Obama campaign's hard work.
Besides, as much as I love Caroline (and the whole Kennedy family), it's pretty obvious Michael Moore is just pulling another one of his obnoxious publicity stunts which will serve to make everything awkard for everyone involved.

I read Michael's letter and I thought it was highly intelligent. It is the first time I ever agreed with him.

Caroline Kennedy is a brillant women. She graduated from Harvard and has a JD from Columbia. While she has spent many of her adult years being a mother to 3 beautiful children, she has also worked as an editor and writer and published her own works.

She has helped establish the NYC Public Schools Foundation, and is the current President of the Kennedy Library Foundation.

While one on this blog would call her dumb, a word my children are not permitted to ever use, I find Michael's choice both refreshing and exciting! This may be Obama's next best hope!

The letter is rediculious.Caroline is not a politician, never has been, never will be.She is a lawyer and author who has her own private life and causes. She is above all of this political nonsense. She is smart like her mother was in trying to maintain a private life while being involved in issues and causes that were important to her and publishing books and her involvement with the Profiles in Courage award and the Kennedy Library.I think she has enough on her plate not to mention being a mother and wife. She is a classy, elegant and intelligent person who has made her family proud. She is above politics. She is someone Obama trusts to find the right person to be his match. That's all.Yes Cheney changed the way VP's do their job but you have to want to be in this microscpoe and I highly doubt she would want to give up her privacy, her husbands and her childrens. She has was what she wants .

Well, the obamas owe the kennedys big-time. It was JFKs airlift that brought Barack's pop over here to study and go to school in Hawaii & Harvard, which in turn provided a legacy admission to Harvard for Barack. Funny how things work out.
Ted Kennedy got the same legacy admission to Harvard but was a less than stellar student.

Yeah right. If Caroline were to consider this offer I truly believe that Jackie would come out of her grave and beat the living daylights out of the girl and then continue to haunt Caroline for the rest of her days.

If Kennedy is Obama's VP, this would have to be Michelle Obama's selection and it will end her husband's chances to win the White House.

Michelle Obama, the born leader in her family with her husband the born face man, has carefully orchestrated her husband's every move.

Obama, with limited experience and no tangible accomplishments as Senator, has two things in his favor; change and his opposition to the Iraq war.

I feel Michelle is looking for something that will define her husband as an agent of change and that is ending the Iraq war; by framing her husband as a President against the war and a President who ended the war, Obama will leave a lasting impression.

I feel Michelle will select Wesley Clark.

I saw this letter and think that Michaels choice is dumb. Caroline would only be getting him sympathy votes because of who her dad was. She has no experience and if something ever happened to Obama if they did run and win, then she'd be clueless as to what to do to run this country. Both of them on the ticket would be the most inexperienced team ever! Just because she is a Kennedy doesn't mean she knows anything about politics.
