What's scary to me is that they taser everyone, pregnant, heart defects, everyone. Sure, they can hardly ask for a medical record before tasering someone, but those things are dangerous.

    Tasering is just torture.

That's so excessive! Tasered 7 times! Come on...

I hope media attention on Jeffs helps the children. I hope others in his position don't run hiding.

I know this sounds terrible for me to say, but that video with the bench collapsing did not really shock me. I feel bad for those people, but bull fighting is a barbaric tradition that should be stopped! And I'm Spanish!

It seems like some rogue police thought that they could do as they please! I can't believe they killed a man and aren't charged with anything! RIDICULOUS!!

Is this the only time someone has died from a taser gun? Sad story.

What is going on with Christian Bale?–rather strange.

Jeffs will get everything he richly deserves hopefully–he's a monster.

I don't think the taser itself was the problem in this story...

Speaking of Jeffs, has anyone noticed that no one is talking about the FLDS children anymore...are we to assume that they are safe and sound and all is well?

I just disagree with tasering! It's just so wrong!

Rick, I have to respectfully disagree. McCain is often given a free pass by the media on a multitude of issues. This at best a serious mistake at worst, rewriting history to push forward his political argument and strengthen his case.

Christian Bale, probably told them he wasn't paying for their hotel and they were insulted not assualted.

you know that those policemen, will be found innocent they always do. they will say he resisted arrest or was on some kind of drugs.

I wish Obama & McCain would both focus more on the economy–that's where the voters' thoughts will be in Nov.

Sorry, Erica, don't think Dolly's rain will help the drought much–just flooding & destruction.

Anderson, you are never late–just working very hard & we all know that.

you never hear any good stories about taser guns. i remember, erica, you did a lot of segments on them, but just seems nothing good comes from them and only more trouble is caused.

No matter how many times I see the pictures of Warren Jeffs with those young girls...they are still shocking and disgusting.

Jeffs = pedophile hiding behind his personal brand of religion

Hopefully Jeffs is being kept in the general prison population. They take care of child molesters in a biblical way.

Why does this news on Warren Jeffs and some of the other men involved in the compound surprise me? Im glad they are pressing charges against these guys. It's disgusting.

Obama's biggest mistake was saying he disagrees with Gen. Petrayus – the military folks, both active and vets, will not be pleased – of course, more and more vet. groups have been supporting McCain – by election time, the people will realize an inexperienced person as president is too risky, and McCain will win the presidency –

Finally some indictments in Texas case. Warren Jeffs should never see the light of day.

Obama looked very awkward in Jordan while speaking. It appeared that he was out of place and way over his head. It is a shame that he does not have any experience. The removal of Clinton was a mistake by the Democratic party.

Dawn, without these brave reporters, we would be in the dark. And Gary keep safe. Semper Fi to all marines out there.

Jeffs is sick!! I hope that they can get him for as many rapes as they can. Too bad he can't get the death penalty!

That Warren Jeffs is a horrible individual!

  39. Minou, New York City

Rey: logistically it's impossible to get huge amounts of troops out at the same time. It has to be bit by bit.

I hope you are not going to be too critical of Christian Bale because we don't know all the facts yet and he should be given the benefit of the doubt. He has a clean record.

BTW, "The Dark Knight" is fabulous!

glad to hear Jeffs was charged with more crimes today.

Senator Obama is referring to himself as Commander in Chief a little too much. He is starting to sound like he believes his own hype and will most likely not win.

Senator McCain has defined victory in Iraq. Victory is when we are satisfied that the Iraqi's can handle their own security. In fact he has said he expects many troops to be out of Iraq before the end of his first term.

    July 22, 2008 at 10:36 pm |
  45. Anna - chicago ,il

McCain cannont define victory in Iraq because he doesn't know it himself..let's remember that we couldn't get out when the violence was up and when it is down ...there is no victory definition..there should have been a clear one from the beginning

  46. Timothy Nelson - Hopkins, Minnesota

Batman's story is a joke. Who wants to bet they end up attempting to sue him over this?

And just because the man is now Batman., c'mon, now.

    July 22, 2008 at 10:36 pm |
  47. Janna

Heather, Exactly my thoughts! I'm getting dizzy here... If McCain could answer that question, he may be able to make some headway
