It looks like houses were dropped in the middle of a lake...too much to comprehend

Anderson, who really 'owns' the levees? Who is responsible for building and maintaining them?

    June 19, 2008 at 10:09 pm |
  3. Gary

Mollie, who is in charge of funding the levees?

    Good evening everyone

Every time I turn on the tv, another levee has broken. But it hasn't brought down the people's morale at all. It's incredible how strong they are.

    Hi All

Our infrastructures really need a lot of work. This is so sad, and it is a shame that more was not done to prevent this before this happened.

the levees are supposed to be checked
but the government doesn't want to give the money to get them fixed
though it costs alot more money after they break

People want to feel they are doing as much as they can. I've seen firsthand how sandbagging can help to some degree.

  10. Mary H. St. Louis, MO

They are very heavy and especially if you are in an assembling line passing them or trying to pass them in a line to put in place.... I remember that from 93. And yes, it is cloudy and suppossed to rain overnight. Not what we need.

I couldn't do that sandbagging thing without ending up in the hospital. I'm sure Anderson could do that pretty easily.

  20. Mike, Syracuse, NY

Perhaps Erica could replace your picture with something more appropriate...say Sponge Bob Square Pants.

It is disappointing the government did not invest more in the infrastructure after seeing the horror that Katrina provided New Orleans. This should never have happened.

    June 19, 2008 at 10:04 pm |
  26. Julliet
