Live Blog from the Anchor Desk 5/13/08

Two hours live tonight!

The polls are closed in West Virginia and Sen. Hillary Clinton is the winner. What impact will her victory have on the race for the nomination and what do the exit polls tell us? We'll have analysis on that from the best political team on television. We'll hear from both candidates tonight and take a look at their options and strategies moving forward.

We'll also go live to China. John Vause and his CNN crew have made it to the worst of the damage from yesterday's earthquake. China's government says more than 12,000 people were killed. The numbers could get much higher.

Anderson and Erica are blogging tonight. Check them both out on our live web camera from the 360° studio. We'll turn it on at 945p ET and turn it off at midnight ET. LINK TO THE BLOG CAMERA

We'll start posting comments at 10p ET and stop at midnight ET.

Thanks for the 2 hour webcam and blogging and show! It was nice for a change. Thanks for the update on China too. Just goes to show that when there's that much destruction, the government cannot seem to keep up with aiding their people. It's heartbreaking to watch.

    Wonderful show. Nite everyone!

I just want to make sure that the candidate we elect continues to fight for all of the peoples votes and doesn't give up when things get difficult or tiring.

GOOD! I am glad that Anderson is covering the devastation in China now. I was disappointed last night that the many crisis around the world was reduced to such a short segment

That man's injuries in the quake were awful. It's so sad that people have to endure such misery – especially in the places where the government rather the people die than help them (Burma, Sudan, etc)

The China report is shocking. I was born and raised in SF/Bay Area and I am stunned by the pictures and the number of deaths.

Two hours of this (I have so much to do sitting here at my desk). I think I’m getting really obsessed with this blog, not to mention 360. I think I would pass out if the power went out 🙂

As an Obama supporter I will say that I think he and his campaign are making a mistake by not competing in primary states. He has to show he can close the deal.

  22. Jacqui Chan

I would like to see Obama as president. I feel he is a great person with a lot of promise but I think he could use the 8 years experience of vice presidency first since he really does not have enough political experience. I know his supporters won't agree but with the war going on and God knows what the future will bring we need someone with experience – experience = knowledge

Finally, China. Some real news about more important issues in the world. Why must we insist on asserting that we are the most important (or only) people on the planet?

One of the best aspects of 360 is that Anderson allows the people on the program equal time to "say what they have to say" even if it is the same ideas being said over and over. He gives each person a platform to "spout off" and keeps the conversation productive.

    Anderson, Love your show,
I am giving consideration to both democrats, yet I feel that Obama is giving up on the votes in the final states, like he has already won "us" because of the previous race outcomes. When in reality it is the first time in forever that we have had a say in the primary and we will determine who we will vote for and it won't be based on previous outcomes. Just thoughts.

Why is it we are so motivated by a contest that is gradually becoming little more than an ego confrontation, rather than a serious conversation on issues for average people (like me)?

Stephanie, I think his message of "Change" is about changing the way congress "really" works. Breaking away from the status quo. That technique is working for the young and independent voters. Lets just hope he gets someone with experience for his VP. 😉

Barak Obamma speaks about audacity as a positive mindset; Hillary Clinton exemplifies audacity as a negative trait.
