Good Morning folks...today is the day we must SAVE the EARTH...Well, we are supposed to figure out ways to do that EVERYDAY, but today is the day we think a little harder about it...SOOO, Happy Earth Day!!!!
It is also Pennsylvania Primary Day!!! It has been 6 weeks since anyone went to vote in this election.... On the line - the fate of the Democratic presidential nomination. Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama would LOVE to come out of Pennsylvania with a win, but most political analysts agree that for Clinton, a victory is crucial. Obama leads in delegates won, the popular vote and states won so far this primary season. If Clinton wins, it would allow her to make a small dent in Obama's lead... BUT more importantly, bolster her position to the American people that if she can win the traditional Democratic constituencies needed to win the election..a.k.a. the BIG states...the mostly white working-class states... she can win the general election... NOTE to self: Primary season goes till JUNE 10...so strap yourselves in for a LONG LONG ride....
BUT TUNE IN TONIGHT at 7 pm ...the BEST Political TEAM on television..which includes our man ANDERSON COOPER...will have the latest on the vote count and all the analysis...
SO as the candidates make a final push for votes in today's Pennsylvania primary, USA TODAY has a new national poll out....Obama leads the NATIONAL survey by 50%-40% among Democrats and voters who lean Democratic. That's a bigger edge than the 7 percentage-point lead he held in the USA TODAY poll last month. NOT sure what that means for today...but good to know as we move forward...
Making local political headlines...a local tv station in Jonesville, S.C. is reporting that a sign in front of a small church is causing a big controversy.... Pastor Roger Byrd said that he just wanted to get people thinking. So last Thursday, he put a new message on the sign at the Jonesville Church of God. It reads: "Obama, Osama, hmm, are they brothers?" Lets see how long this takes to make NATIONAL headlines...
IN other news today...unless you live in Pennsylvania...stay home!!! Gas is up 65.9 cents from a year ago –gas prices hit an all time HIGH this morning and are now averaging $3.51 a gallon nationwide... SO, sell your car and start taking the bus!!!
The NY TIMES is reporting that laboratory workers began taking DNA samples on Monday from the 416 children seized in a raid earlier this month on a polygamist religious group in West Texas... Potential complications loomed on both fronts in what child welfare experts said was one of the largest and most tangled custody cases in United States history. The DNA samples, taken through cheek swabs, will be matched against samples taken from adults in the community over the next few days to determine family blood lines. THE GOAL? To determine who belongs to whom..but also help the state confirm who may have been forced into an under-age marriage... so stay tuned, the ACLU is now involved, it will get ugly!!!
AND in honor of earth day...the LA TIMES has a great headline "Mirror, mirror on the wall: Who is the greenest of them all? " Well, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa says he is...He has a plan to slash his city's planet-warming greenhouse gases to 35% below the 1990 level by 2030, and make L.A. the "cleanest and greenest city in the country." BUT San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom says HOLD ON - he has a blueprint to cut his city's greenhouse gases to 20% below the 1990 level by 2012, creating "the greenest large city in the United States of America." BUT on a national level...the WASHINGTON TIMES reports that Democrats promised a wave of "green" legislation when they took control of Congress in January 2007, but their failure to produce major legislation to address global warming has left many environmental activists seeing red. SO again, YOU need to think of ways to SAVE the EARTH!!!

Why do some of the Clinton supporters keep saying that
she has won the big states and Obama has not. That makes
no sense. That does not mean that Obama will not win these
states in the general election. Lets not forget it is Democrat vs
Democrat . Will 360 be on tonight with blogging? I am looking for
the day when the 360 crew will have blogging during a primary.
To John I: First off, Senator Clinton's first named is spelled Hillary, not Hilary. Second, she has ties to terroist organizations?? What planet are you on? Name the organizations. That's pretty incendiary. I'm surprised you haven't said Hillary was behind the terrorist attacks on 9/11. Show your proof – if not, then shut up with the lies.
Help me understand how the so-called political pundits can blithely dismiss and discount the majority votes in one state while highly valuing those in another. Tell me, please, what is the difference between an African American vote in North Carolina and a white male vote in Pennsylvania? Is this color-coded math or politics? Believe it or not, folks, in a democracy one vote is equal to another (or, at least, it is supposed to be). Please check your biases at the door–or label them for all to see!
Regarding Earth Day, I started this spring to recycle plastics and aluminum. I can't get over how much plastic we use. I have two big garbage bags in the garage.
Not shocked Obama is leading National survey.
People say this is the only war that we are not giving stuff up for, but we give up going places. Gas is not green , so I'll drop this subject.
Haley Barbour needs to get on the green boat for Mississippi.
Really looking forward to the results tonight, it will be good to see how things pan out for the two candidates.
With all of the pastor controversy thus far in the campaigns, why would this guy even THINK about putting something like that on a church sign. "Wanted to get people thinking", well, they will be thinking SOMETHING, but I highly doubt it will be what he had in mind.
Gas prices make me cry inside. I can't cry on the outside because I am a guy with a reputation (not really), but I cry whenever I put fifty dollars in my car every month. Good thing I ride the bus to campus, otherwise I would be begging on the streets with a sign "COLLEGE KID, NEED GAS $"
I am interested to see these DNA results. I don't believe these mothers that were interviewed. They were robots. Time to get the real story.
EARTH DAY!!! The idea is so uplifting. Too bad it is full of empty promises from these mayors. I doubt their words will mean a thing. It is up to dedicated citizens to make a real change. Stop showering! Kidding...hehe. Plant a tree, hold community cleanup, recycle. Spread the word. 🙂
From someone who remembers the first Earth Day all I have to say is that we still have a long way to go. Strange it seems that in times of crisis, high gasoline prices, Earth Day is only then brought to the forefront and given media attention.
So does the election show start at 7 or 8? They have been saying 7 on CNN today and last night they said 7...so which is it?
During the past 50 years or so we have screwed up the environment pretty good. We did not know the consequences. Now that we know about Global warming, we need to act & undo the harm done as much as we can. Water resources including Glaciars play a very important part with population growth, food shortages etc.
Gas might be $3.51 a gallon somewhere, but not here! Try $4.09 for regular at most stations in San Francisco. I'm taking the bus these days.

Anderson Cooper last night I noticed how anti-Obama you were on your program. Your role as a newcaster is still remain neutral when listening to the issues from the 2 senator's spokesperson rather than giving Hiliary the advantage.

The above quote only proves how ignorant Pastor Byrd is when it comes to the meanings of names around the world. Obama and Osama, except for their close spelling, have nothing in common and in meanings. Obama is an African name whereas Osama is an Arabic name, with no relation whatsoever in their meanings. Thus for those who have some knowledge about the rest of the world names, Pastor Byrd is a laughing stock. Being ignorant of the world is normal but advertising one's ignorance as something one knows is the worst side of the ignorance.
Hello MR. Anderson (like the matrix...). I am responding to what Hilary siad about not cheering on John McCain in response to Barack Obama. Hilary Clinton has also cheered on John McCain, has she not? So whats up with all this double talk? Furthermore, Hilary Clinton has ties to terrorist organization....many terrorist organizations. So whtas so bad about BIll Ears.
I don't know whether single adults will choose the best candidate, all I know is that the NAME OF THE PRIMARY GAME is suppose to be gathering delegates from each state and Barack Obama has DONE THAT. The rules are trying to be changed on the TV everytime I look and I don't think that Obama's supporters are going to take that sitting down.
I respect that we are all given rights in this country. What I do not understand is why we see something like this sect camp cult and ask the question "is this ok? These women are robotic and we all know those girls are not 16. That is the age written in those books but Those aren't the actual ages of these young girls. Good Job Texas! Other states should follow Texas and rescue these people from this cult.
