Very nice profile on Mrs. Clinton.

And when I moved from the midwest to a location 30 miles from the San Andreas fault, all my old neighbors said "oooh, the earthquakes in California..."

    Too funny.

Whose got the problem with the green tie? I like the green tie...

AC...the earthquake situation is something that I have been monitoring closely for the past four months. Some people are in denial about the growing situation...I'm not.

I was born in '78 so I grew up an 80's chick. I miss the 80's.

Not a bad piece on Hillary, but, I do think you hit the "Bill Was Bad" era a little to much.

    April 18, 2008 at 10:55 pm |
  12. Jo Ann, Ohio

@Carmen: I didn't say that Bill should not be in the piece; of course she would not be where she is without him and vice versa, but that particular clip was unnecessary. It did not advance the profile, it detracted from the subject.

When Hillary talks about breaking through the glass ceiling for women, does she realize that there have been 35 women senators compared to 5 black senators since America began? I could never understand how we could compare the to movements. Its like night and day.

@ Megan and Whitney: you weren't around in the 70's? Are you old enough to vote in CA?

Does anyone really care what Ted Danson has to say about the Clintons??..I mean come on. I know he's a power player at Cheers but on the political front...maybe not so much.

    Anderson,

excellent piece on Hilary Clinton! Thank you! I still believe Hilary and Obama would make an excellent ticket!!

    Re: EJ

Yeah, it seems that this is a kind of place where we discuss the news, debate, and shamelessly worship Anderson's every move. It's inevitable, lol, but I'm sure it annoys him to no end. Ah well, we're fans, that's what we do. 😀

Out of the three candidates left, I think Hillary does NOT have a personal agenda other than to UPLIFT the USA and do the best possible job she can for US. She doesnt get all ruffled and stutter when asked difficult, uncomfortable questions. The only thing she has to prove WILL BENEFIT ALL OF US : )

Obama has something to prove, a chip on his shoulder, and a secret agenda we have yet to see in the media.

McCain has an agenda concerning this war... even if it takes 100 yrs.
I'm wondering if he isn't living in his yesterdays.

"@ Megan…I do remember Anderson discussed make up applied on Planet in Peril. I don’t think that the make up products have anything to do with harmful effect on Anderson. He used the Insect spray repellent when he was in Africa. I may be wrong."

I would hope so! If he learned his lesson from the 1st time he was in Africa. 🙂

In regard to Teresa's question, in their theology only women who are married to temple worthy men and have children get to go to the "celestial kingdom" a higher part of heaven where their husbands wil be "gods" and they will co-rule with them, as "goddesses" over their kingdom which includes their children. This is part of general LDS theology, but the FLDS believe you cannot be temple worthy without at least three wives.

    Carmen,

What I am trying to say is, that this situation is too disquieting and too deep to be handled so hastily. They are people too. Animals are handled with a lot more concern and frgility before they are torn away from their natural habitats and placed in a zoo or something. I just think the authories don't think and plan enough before taking drastic actions.

Of all the reasons to admire Hillary, her efforts to bring attention to the plight of women and children all over the world has been what I have admired about her most.

does anyone know, isn't it the law when born in America that you must be processed and recieve a birth cirtificate?
all the things that they do like receive welfare checks as a "single mother", marry their daughters off as minors and abondon their young sons and they have the nerve to say that the government is picking on them.

Yvonne, I think to be president, you need to be addicted to the limelight. God knows they are going to get plenty of it. Obama doesnt' seem to run from the cameras either. LOL

She may not be as overly ambitious as people make her out to be – she deferred her own ambitions for a long time to further Bill's political career. Now it's her turn. She may actually be a bit more traditional than it may appear.
