@Jo Ann: I agree, I wasn't cutting down HIllary with my comment, I feel she's a fighter too and most women her age probably endured quite a bit...like she mentioned "The ole boys club".

The Bill "comment" probably was a lead in to the "Stand by my man" stance Hillary took....just a guess.

I admire Hillary – she is a fighter. Jolene and Lisa, I agree with you both.

To coin a familar phrase with regards to FDLS,"It takes a village...", either to enable the horrors of the FDLS community, or to save the children of all our communities.

Lisa – Ft. Lauderdale> Wow what a post! Sexism between women is something I've always thought about to myself, but never heard a anyone point it out before, that really struck me. I agree.

Great seg on Hillary, wow, look at the hairdos back then. We've come a long way. I think she has had a fascinating life and alls rolled with the punches. Most people won't survive that kind of scrunity.
Obama has had a free ride.

Anderson – Thank you for a good piece on Hillary – I am a little surprised as you always seem to dislike her. I still don't think the problems with Bill should have any importance on her being the democratic candidate. What do you think?

If Hillary Clinton could put up with Bill's antics she can handle anything Ahmadinejad or Kim Jong-Il might dish out.

Antonius – you asked about the person handing papers to me...they are giving me hard copy scripts, but i usually dont use them unless there is a malfunction of the teleprompter. Throughout the broadcast i am typing into my computer, re-writing copy, and the changes are automatically made in the prompter. The scripts are usually kind of out of date by the time i get them, because i keep altering stuff.

Do Americans really believe “If you are tough and arrogant, you are ready to be Commander and Chief.” I think that is how the Republicans think and look where it got us. In order to be an effective world leader, our President has to create partnerships with global leaders. The President cannot go about being a bully, especially when you have no power. The power is shifting East – China, India, Middle East. We need all the partners we can find. We need foreign investors to rebuild our economy – but maybe we are too late for that or else Americans are just not smart enough to recognize that we are scoring lowering in math and science than third world countries. Without knowledge, there is no innovation. Jobs moving, economy in trouble, education system poor. Hum, I wonder how we got here.

Jolene said: I’m sure that HIllary has endured her share of sexism and discrimination in her lifetime. That is probably why she is such a fighter.

Jolene – you can see that sexism right here on this blog – after making history as the first woman coming close to becoming president – there are bloggers her making jokes about claws and dresses. Women are much tougher on other women than men are – that's the real reason we haven't reached full equality yet – there is still a glass ceiling and women still earn lower wages for equal work on average. If we supported each other – we'd be much further ahead.

It is so sad that the children absolutely have no protection for themselve living with very depressed compounds. Nobody knows for sure what's going to happen with the children in the future. It's hard to say.

@ Megan...I do remember Anderson discussed make up applied on Planet in Peril. I don't think that the make up products have anything to do with harmful effect on Anderson. He used the Insect spray repellent when he was in Africa. I may be wrong.

Did I hear this correctly, EVEN with a child she grew her career. Don't children ENHANCE your life and your career? Bad script from the writer.

There is ALWAYS a paper trail somewhere (note back to Janna) about my suggestion to track back names etc through the Welfare cheques. Someone had to fill out something. I assume they are still on the $. Those wheels would move slower. Regardless the paperwork that initiated the $ would be trackable.

OK, there were underaged girls with child – next door.

Why does that give the state the right to come and take the children away from the home next door?

I didn't know that Hillary was a Republican. Then she changed her ideologies. I've always admired her being an independent thinker.

@Jolene: Clinton has a lot of faults, but she has proven to be a fighter and a survivor of sorts.

I wonder why Anderson felt that he had to show a bit of Bill Clinton's "confession" during this piece. Isn't it supposed to be about Hillary?

    April 18, 2008 at 10:43 pm |

I can't really say that I am a huge fan of any of the candidates, but I do like Hillary the most.

The women seem very sad. I hope most of the children can be reunited with their mothers. I am wondering if the women are brainwashed or have mental disabilities; it is so strange. I would be interested in hearing the story of one of the young men who was expelled from the compound. What's their story?

    Mary Beth:
I too, am wondering how much incest is actually happening.
I mean, without any records, do they actually remember who fathered whom and who's marrying their sister?
