Wow I didn't know she was a republican either. But I suppose a republican during her youth and a republican now are quite different? On the Ellen show she shared how she became a supporter of gay rights through a family friend, and it totally reaffirmed my support for her. Its great when candidates share how they have come to their beliefs.

Hey Erica, The Illinois earthquake was far reaching. I live in Brooklyn Michigan and I was half asleep this morning between 5:30 and 6 :00 Eastern time and my bed moved. My window was open and I thought the wind was blowing thru my blankets and when I finally woke up I realized my bed had moved and there were no breezes blowing in the window. The Jackson paper reported that others in the area had felt the earthquake so I knew I was not dreaming. It lasted about 5 seconds and the only other thing that moved in my house was a candle holder that was teetering on the edge of my kitchen counter.

I always felt that Hillary's campaign was based on ambition.

@ Megan O. Hello! Yes, Hillary was originally a Republican back in her college days. Wild, isn't it?

It's just the women and kids. Why aren't the men being inconvenienced? Why didn't they just seize all the men and let the women and kids alone? What guarantee is there that the rapist(s) haven't already fled the scene? Right now, we appear to be no better than the men they're living with. That's the sad part of this story.

That piece on Hillary Clinton was very interesting so far! She is a complex woman indeed.

Jolene, The sexist remarks made by many in the media hasnt' been discussed in the media much. It's been amazing how many of the anchors on different networks have made remarks about Hillary "getting back in the kitchen... etc."

Hey – where are the men?

It takes a man to make a baby – why are you/they beating up on the women?

FLDS is a huge mess. These children will lose either way if returned to their families or remain in state custody.

It looks like Obama is going to wrap this up pretty soon – but I think Clinton should be proud of going further than any woman and most men have gone in the bid for the White House. I was leaning towards Obama in the beginning, but her tenacity really won me over. We really need that in the White House.

MaryBeth I think you are totally onto something. Especially if they have no records and that many people. The worst part is that those kids have no idea how wrong something like reproducing say with a first cousin etc. is.

@Chuck in Alabama, I do think it was time that Obama was treated as harshly as Clinton was when the race began. He wasn't used to it so now he thinks that it was unfair.

I feel very bad for these people. I would like to see the mothers from these communities be able to live with their children in foster care.

I read today on CNN blogs that some of the men own manufacturing companies and have made money from Pentagon defense contracts making airplane parts and such. Also they donated up to $50,000 per month to the church. WoW.

MaryBeth- they're supposed to watch what they say so as not to give away the "wrong" information
they could get in trouble with the "men"
i think that's what Carolyn Jessup said on yesterdays program
or at least, it was some time this week... not sure

mary beth ~ then if the only doctors were inside the compound; add them to the list of persons to be prosecuted for being fully aware of sexual abuse towards a minor and letting it continue. with such a small community, the doctors were well aware of the ages of these pregnant children.

I'm sure that HIllary has endured her share of sexism and discrimination in her lifetime. That is probably why she is such a fighter.

I've been following all the news with the FLDS. I've heard that there are no birth certificates. What happens when somone dies, is this the same with no death certificate. If so, it would seem to me that it might look like someone never existed at all with no records.

If they didn't have crayons, how did the kids make those drawings? That lady showed a childish drawing, in color, during the tour.

EJ, I saw a woman, who used to be in the sect on Larry King who said that she was taught to fear black people and that if she talked to one she would turn black. So they sound really racists; I would doubt they allow anyone, "not pure".
