Officials in Mohave County, Arizona have every capability of arresting Dale Barlow, the 50-year-old man who is alleged to have beaten, choked and sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl after their "spiritual marriage."
It's that girl's phone call to authorities in Texas, and an arrest warrant for Barlow, that sparked the raid on the compound of the polygamist FLDS sect in west Texas last Thursday.
Law enforcement officials say Barlow is here in Arizona, and they could arrest him if Texas asks them to. But they tell us they have NOT received an arrest warrant.
So the obvious question is why?

The problem is that the probation officer in Arizona is pretty sure Dale Barlow hasn't been to Texas in the time period the girl claimed. He's been on probation for some time and has checked in regularly. Dale himself claims he hasn't been to Texas in 30 years, and he claims to have never heard of this person before (we would expect a guilty person to just claim not to have abused her. If he was really married to her claiming to have never known her is incredibly illogical). The other issue is that opponents of the FLDS church in Texas who claim to know exactly who this girl is say that her husband is an entirely different person with a similar sounding name (and is in his 30's, not his 50's).
I think that the phone call from the l6 year old girl was a hoax. And it may have been planted just so the authorities would have an excuse to raid the place. When you hear of some of the people who were taken away from their parent in the 50's when they were just children, that is what I really call child abuse. And the latest news says there are no pregnant teens in the group of people. Also the man mentioned as the one who married the girl was not even in Texas at the time.
Was this just another botched police matter????
I hope they get an arrest warrant soon for this man; he needs to be in jail. I'm sure the Texas authorities are overwhelmed right now with the investigation and the logistics of caring for the women and children they removed from the compound.
Did they ever find the girl that called in the tip about the abuse? I hope she is safe.

Gary,
You say that girl. What girl?
The question is......where is that girl now? OR is there a girl? It'll be a goose chase to find out.
Gary,
So they know exactly where Barlow is but won't arrest him! What's up with that!? I guess they have to get the 16 year old first and get her statement. Let's hope that they find her and put this man away!
