While I have a great deal of respect for Jeffrey Toobin, I have to respond to his comments regarding the jury. I would refer him to the works of Professor Donald Black on the subject of the Sociology of Law. While law is presented as being objective and unbiased, it is – underneath – a social construct. The expectation that a group of jurors, regardless of makeup, can come together and totally set aside their life experiences and perspectives – no matter how noble – is simply not based in reality.

It has been reported that George Zimmerman approached Trayvon Martin from behind. If this is true they both could have fallen backward. This would have caused the bruises to the back of Zimmerman's head and his broken nose.

Please folks, I always believe a person was to be assumed INNOCENT until proven guilty! This case made me feel like George Z. was considered to be guilty until proven INNOCENT!! Please comment on this issue!
