In an AC360° exclusive, Alicia Stanley speaks out about her role in Trayvon Martin’s life, what her stepson was like, and what she thinks happened the night he was shot and killed.
Part two of the interview:
You chase someone down you have the gun, and your defending yourself??? I don't get it. case closed.
My point exactly. If you are in fear why leave your car, why pursue the victim, why approach the victim/ Why not just get a description and call the cops. That's the way civilized people handle things. This is not the wild wild west. He should have been charged with 1st degree murder because he pursued Trayvon. The fact that he was only charged with 2nd degree murder concerns me. He will likely be found guilty of manslaughter and serve minimal sentencing. This is just awful.
If Zimmerman was on the bottom and shot up then why wasn't blood all over him.
Why doesn'the have no response to anything no emotional response and why is it that some who testify its OK for the person to not remember details and for others they should always be exact. Zimmerman is lying he may have made a mistake being gung ho but like a drunk driver he should pay the price for that mistake and not deny it, there is no self defense when you provoke, intimidate by presence or stature you are the aggressor and the young man had the right to question and protect himself from the threat. It does not matter how he called out the person who threaten his presence the fact remains that the fear of threat started when the youn man called him a creepy crac ,,, and when he said that nig – er is still follwing me don't just hold on to one slang keep them both in the content of fear or intimidation in which the younb man said them.
What happened is the prosecution holding 7 of the nine tapes until closing arguments to show that people were lying.
No mention of kick back or soarnes to the chest from the knickback of a gun when it shoulld have been one at that close of range from underneath a person;
This is very self serving for her to do this interview during the trial. All because she wasn't kept in the loop, didn't sit on the front row at the funeral, and wanting people to know she exists?! Give me a break! This really isn't about you.
I wouldn't say self serving but misplaced hurt. Essentially she raised a child and is not allowed to grieve. I think the front row thing is just extra. She is hurt because her feelings are not being validated because she is not the biological parent. But, she raised the child. She is just trying to say dont shut her out because she hurt as well.
in our state. step mothers are nothing. just ask the judge. and in death everyone is an angel . it does not appear that anyone really knew your stepson. what a mouth.....you didn't teach that language in your home, but can you honestly say you never heard him talk like that? it doesn't seem to be new words and according to his friend jeantel he used those words before. well.....stepmom never heard them. how can that be?
The Defendant charged by a racially biased family (mother, father, stepmother, girl friend?) who raised Trayvon, has a mother. She is half Hispanic, half black. Wow! How she must feel seeing her own "family" of blacks turn against her family because her son had to defend himself.. That poor lady. She is not seen in the background in the courtroom, wiping her eyes, walking out when it is too much. The judge and the law did not let her stay. That woman weeps alone or with other family members who weep. No one cares it seems.
Why not take GZ back where everything happen at the same time at night.Get the woman who call 911 to call from the same spot she was when she made the first call. Get GZ to cry out help and see if it is the same cry.
This is to Anderson and the Lawyers, I had viewed Zimmerman's tape of explaining what happened that night and I noticed he said when he was on the ground, on the concrete he was squirming and somewhat sliding to get from up under Trayvon, it seems to me that's where the injuries to his head came from, sliding his own head on the concrete, yes he probably did get hit in the nose but the injuries to his head look more like a rubbing or sliding on concrete than banging the head on concrete, I see no swelling to the head. Can someone explain that?
All this talk about Travon Martin beating up on George Zimmerman. Has anyone thought about the fact that Travon may have been defending himself from the attack of George Zimmerman

A lot has been said about the fight between Zimmerman and Martin, but the severity of the wound is not what will matter to prove that Zimmerman had to shoot martin to save his own life. It will be the gun! How the gun was produced, and what followed. If Zimmerman pulled it or if Martin saw it and went for it himself. They would have struggled over it and at this time if Martin realized he is loosing control of the gun he too may have screamed, but having just been beaten by Martin, Zimmerman would have had no choice but to shoot Martin to keep from being shot with his own gun. After shooting him he may have moved Martin off of himself and gotten over him maybe checking vitals. This position was observed by the Spanish speaking witness -- I would like this comment to reach Mr. Cooper!
why wasn't zimmermans blood on Trayvon's hands if he punched and held his hands over his mouth, and banged his head as zimmerman proport
The blood on top zimmerman nose is Trayvon blood zimmerman is not blooding from his nose that is not a punch to nose the blood flow is not right he hit self with gun to back of head ,if Trayvon hit zimmerman head on the sidewalk there would more Injury and blood to lower part of his head.
Here is a question I want you to ask your panel on Monday regarding this Zimmerman/Treyvon case:
If I am been chased by a dog and I caontiue to run. At some point, I turned around around as the dog continued cjasing me and I carry the dog and smash it on the ground. Why si defending himself? Who is the aggressor?
Mark, your panel still misses the key point that Zimmerman had been told not to follow Treyvon but he contniued until he killed him. Zimmerman is still the aggressor.Trevon in fact, was defending himslef.
Feal sorry for his aunt,His mother cant look like a great mother if she is in the background saying she practicall raised him. i also believe it is self defense for Zimmerman
I think the wounds on zimmermans' head and broken nose are self inflicted- the spanish speaking witness testified that she saw zimmerman get off of trayvon and walk over to the dumpsters- 3 times- walking back and forth- i think once he realized what he did- he needed to exacerbate the situation- and make the fight more than it was-. what was zimmerman doing when he kept walkig away? the police had not arrived. zimmerman had already called he police. why did he never give him an address? he lived there. he should have named the complex from the get go and stated his residence and have the police get there.
Anderson – I have a question that no one has to my knowledge brought up (Zimmerman/Martin). Is it necessary for someone on neighborhood watch to be armed with a gun? If a gun had not been involved, this case would not even exist. It also boggles the mind, that a 300lb. man was so sorely beaten and "feared for his life" from a slightly-built teenager. Even IF Trayvon had been the aggressor – which I do not believe – Zimmerman could have handled the situation without the use of a gun. Oh yes, by the way, I am a white woman.
Could Zimmerman have walked away at anytime from the fight? He could have used his gun to get away without actually shooting.
It does not matter what each witness testifies. The bottom line is white people think zimmerman is justified and innocent, black people do not. The jury is predominately white. Case closed.
Jay as I discuss this with a large diverse network of friends, I can tell you this isn't true. It isn't Black vs White. It's a passionate desire for justice. Justice for Trayvon. We, in all of our colors, are his voice now. He should be with us today. Who would not be alarmed being pursued by a stranger. A stranger who never identified himself. Who wouldn't think the very worst. I will be the first to demonstrate should Zimmerman be freed. With no punishment, it will set a dangerous precedent with more tragic results where more innocent will die.
If I were alarmed at being pursued by a stranger, I would use my cell phone to call 911 and then head to the nearest place of safety i.e. my home. Zimmerman could have identified himself as Captain Kangaroo and it would have made no difference. There are many variables here, too many. Zimmerman should have remained in his truck. Martin should have called 911. Zimmerman should have went back to his truck. Martin should have never confronted Zimmerman. Zimmerman should have identified himself. Martin should have never laid a hand on Zimmerman. Zimmerman had every right to defend himself as did Martin. It is now up to 6 women to decide the fate of Zimmerman.
Linda, it is your right as an American to be the first to demonstrate...however..if he is found innocent..all of the demonstrations and riots that are sure to follow will not do a thing to change that verdict. It will cost insurance companies money to fix the damages that they had nothing to do with..and I am sure that innocent people will suffer injuries as well.
I agree the whole story I have tried to picture in my mind what went wrong I drew the same conclusions that he did it or he had someone to do it.
Anderson Cooper goes beyond the headlines to tell stories from many points of view, so you can make up your own mind about the news. Tune in weeknights at 8 and 10 ET on CNN.
