The problem is that if you want ban guns and just want police to have guns, then how is murder going to stop? Criminals and the nutjobs that want to go out and kill someone are not following the rules like the rest of us. The U.S. goverment is the biggest supplier of arms to the world. We sell weapons to every little war going on and make money off of it. Do you honestly think making guns harder to obtain is going to change anything. Human beings have been killing each other since the dawn of time and there is no end in sight. If we aren't doing it with assault rifles then we will do it with knives, baseball bats and rocks.
I don't give a damn about the cynical, defensive, prickly gun owners who try to convince us with fear that we all need to own a "piece” in order to keep the "peace!"
As a parent and a former teacher, I cried for days thinking about the horror those sweet, innocent children experienced before their untimely deaths, while imagining it could of very well been my own 5 year old son. I know I could not live without him and can't imagine the pain those parents are living with. As a human being, I am disgusted and ashamed of the people who put their own, selfish so called "rights” to bear arms before human life without a thread of common sense to admitting there has to be a change to the laws, language and attitudes that don't apply to the world today!
