KTH: Newtown harassed by conspiracy theorists

A tenured associate professor is making outrageous claims that the Sandy Hook shooting massacre did not happen the way it was reported and may not have happened at all. Families who lost loved ones and residents in Newtown have been inundated with hateful messages by people who believe they are part of a government and media conspiracy related to a gun control agenda. One family had to remove the Facebook memorial page created for their little girl because it was bombarded with negative and offensive comments. Anderson Cooper is Keeping Them Honest.

Do gunmakers and gunsellers really have to go this far to protect their profits? I watched the video and am appalled. The video is hate filled, remininiscent of Hitler's Nuremberg rally speeches. One's arm almost goes perpendicular by reflex. The professor and the hoax proliferators seem to be without hearts, sympathy or any normal human feeling for these poor people whose lacerations are so deep and raw from their loss only one month ago. Canada mourns their lonliness and agony. Noone else can carry their burden. We respect them.Thank you Anderson and CNN.

I would also like to add that Tracy mentions his title and position at Florida Atlantic University on the profile page of his so-called private blog. So he clearly associates the blog with the university and is giving his employer, which is the state and thus the tax payer, a bad name.

Thanks Anderson, for making the topic of conspiracy theorists a part of your show. So many reporter are so afraid to even have the conversation. I am a minority who recently relocated to a predominantly white community. Boy, does everyone have an opinion. Since day one of the shooting, people here have been coming with their theories of how the government conspired. With so much hatred and like of sympathy for what happen, it really sheads light on the type people who are committing these scenical and devilish acts. Pretty scary.

If anything, tales get taller on down the line. There was a lot of confusion over network media that led many to start questioning why they weren't covering something so important, so much more accurately. I feel bad if these people are being attacked' for no reason of their own. I myself have been waiting for a confirmation that these allegations have either been resolved or rebuked.

I have seen the arguments of professor Tracy. I suggest anyone who hasn't go on youtube and check them out before replying to this post as well. There are solid inconsistencies pointed out. I think that cnn must address these directly before Anderson Cooper unintentionally makes cnn viewers hate an analytical professor. An example is the video of a man being chased in the woods by police officers that cnn has not aired. One must not be mouth-fed by mainstream news, and It would simply be sheepish and ignorant to not ask questions at this point.

I have seen the video and there is no evidence whatsoever to be found in it and of course, like there is never in any conspiracy theory, a single witness of what must be an operation on which the people of Newtown, the government, the media, the medics and police, FBI and so forth are all in on. Tens of thousands of people.

All the video does is going on and on about the incorrect reports of the media in the hours during and after the shooting which is a normal occurance after chaotic events. In fact had there be no conflicting, incorrect reports that would have been surprising and maybe even suspicious.

Man chased in the woods? So what? Obviously the police found that they had nothing to do with the shooting. Why would they give out the names of innocent people who were wrongly arrested in those chaotic hours? So the conspiracy theorists can harass and theaten them as well? The rest of the video is just ridiculous, baseless assertions and embarassing, an insult to anyone with a halfway working brain, some knowledge of the internet and digital images.

......while I don't agree with the professor, I think you are entering a most slippery slope , Anderson. Rather than spending your energies going on and on about his views, I would MUCH rather see you/CNN get to the bottom of the BENGHAZI debacle--on behalf of those Poor Americans.
