Reporter's Note: President Obama works a lot. So do I
Dear Mr. President,
You’re traveling this weekend, aren't you? Seems I heard that somewhere. Frankly it wears me out just trying to keep up with the schedules you big officials keep. Although I guess if I had my own jet standing by at the drop of a hat I might take a few more trips too.
Honestly, I could use the break.
Seems like works started ramping up back in the spring with the whole election and it has just gone faster and faster ever since. Many of my friends asked before the vote if I was looking forward to some time off afterward. I had to tell them that I just could not afford it; way too much work had been pushed ahead in the calendar.
Well, I won’t go on and on about it. Sometimes I get tired when I spend too many hours at work, but I am lucky in that I truly like what I do. Most days I start thinking about my duties well before I drive toward the office; I keep busy all during the day; and ponder what tomorrow will bring on the way home. On top of which, sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and have an idea which, quite honestly, I crawl out of bed to write down.
Here’s the thing: I’m not a workaholic, I just enjoy getting things done. Hey…maybe I should run for President! Ha!
Hope your Saturday is going well. Me…I’m working!
