Did he not check the ice first? Even if he broke the ice it would have shredded his skin to pieces? Breaking his butt was probably a life saver.
The ice seemed to be thick. He wouldn't be able to break it anyhow unless he magically transformed himself into an ice pick.
He wrap his arms around his legs. You can't do a proper cannonball with you arms not wrapped around your legs. If he would have done that it would have scored him a 10 with the judges!
Isn't it amazing what alcohol allows people to think they can do!
Ouch! Good form though.
