First lady seeks to reignite flame for president

As Michelle Obama took the stage at the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday night, she faced a similar task as Ann Romney of presenting her husband as a father and family man, above his public persona in the political spotlight.

"When people ask me whether being in the White House has changed my husband, I can honestly say that when it comes to his character, and his convictions, and his heart, Barack Obama is still the same man I fell in love with all those years ago," Mrs. Obama said.

The first lady spoke on the convention's opening night, exactly one week after Ann Romney delivered what one CNN analyst called "political velvet," an address at the GOP convention in Tampa that took her sometimes robotic businessman husband, Mitt Romney, and turned him into a charismatic candidate who will be a champion of working-class Americans.

For 20 years I believed that I had the best wife ..tonight after watching Mrs. Obama ..Barack indeed is the luckier man ..if only by a whisker .. her speech was passionate, committed, insightful and resonated with millions not just in America but all around the world ..on 05-09-2012 as her speech came to a close, the Replublican Presidential campaign died on the floor of the convention center ...Paul Ryan was sent back to Wisconsin and Mitt will find his way back to one of his many palaces ...

Michelle Obama showed that your opposition may have billions in the bank but if you have the courage of your convictions and the ability to tell it like it is ... you will always win ... now that this election is settled ...lets work on Hillary/Michelle 2016

The 1st Lady's speech was awesome!!! Every word was heart felt and deliberate. She in a non political way spoke to so many issues the republicans have tried to use against the democracs. She is so humble yet strong and graceful yet playful. She is a quite a lady........

The First Lady is an elegant, smart and honorable woman. Loved her speech and love the Obama's. You have my vote, again, this election.

The first lady presented herself very well, as she always does. It seems, though, like a competition between her and Ann Romney as to who loves their husband the most. Abraham Lincoln, I guess, couldn't have competed for the presidency in today's world.

Great speech! Her heart and mind was in it. If anyone who listened to the republicans and democrats and don't know who is on the peoples side, has a problem.
ROMNEY, RELEASE JUST ONE LINE ON YOUR TAX RETURNS FOR EACH OF THE LAST TEN YEARS:
What Romney fears about his tax returns is the line that has his gross income on it. It’s not what he paid in taxes that he fears. In order to get into a Morman Temple, he must affirm that he has paid 10% of his gross income to the church, not net, but gross. If he lies about that, he will need someone to get baptized for him to get him out of hell. This cult knows how to get the money out of their members, only Moses was better. Catholics can’t put that kind of pressure on their members. Protestants are not in the race. Muslims teach their members how to tithe. Visit the Internet Free Press every day.

Webster’s definition of a cult:system of worship or a group of worshipers devoted attachment to a person, fad, etc. This definition might apply to all religions. The success of any cult depends on how successful it is in collecting tithes.

Michelle Obama's speech was truly honest, open, positive and inspiring! I only wish that more political speakers were that honest and sincere!

I think the words describing the First Lady's speech should be a bit linked to Ann Romney. If Mrs. Romney's speech was "political velvet" I believe the First Lady's speech should be deemed "political silk". There is not a stronger fiber or one that is regarded more.

The First Lady sparkled last night. She is gutsy and brilliant, yet she is also a woman I'd like to meet for coffee.

In the US, the word 'awesome' is overused and inappropriate. Here, though, I would say that word could be used accurately and appropriately. Wow!
