CNN’s Ted Rowlands takes you on a ride along with two 26-year veteran Chicago police officers to document what happens nightly in the deadly neighborhood of Englewood.
And watch Ted's night in the ER
CNN never mentions that there's a gun ban in Chicago.
It's true there are pockets where the violence is REALLY bad, but it's not at all true that it's then "the rest of Chicago" ... That's actually the problem. Historically it has always been just pockets that are bad, but now those pockets have expanded and into more and more working class neighborhoods, throughout the entire city (and alarming to many is "the north side"). Avondale is a terrific example of a neighborhood that 8 years or so ago was a family neighborhood, now it's overrun with gang violence and people are being randomly shot at left and right.
Anderson Cooper goes beyond the headlines to tell stories from many points of view, so you can make up your own mind about the news. Tune in weeknights at 8 and 10 ET on CNN.
