Phil your response is interesting at best. When we expose rape is that a bad thing. You are a man. Obviously you aren't going to be the victim of a predator. What do you have against exposing predators that prey on females? Let's continue to expose all of this sort of behavior. The world is a bad place because good men fail to speak up. This is a good program to help give females the heads up. I for one am a female and I and my daughter have continuously been victimized by men. We are single by choice and attractive. Nothing is ever done to these men. I guess if we put men in jail that raped....we'd have more men in jail than out.

"When we expose rape is that a bad thing. You are a man. Obviously you aren't going to be the victim of a predator. What do you have against exposing predators that prey on females " you said? Based upon Penn St. events, Sandusky victims were not female. And it is as horrendous to males as it is to females.

As a fellow human you have my sympathy for what has victimized you. However, your comments tend to emphasize a hatred of men more so than a hatred of rape or injustice. I surely hope you will seek counseling to arrive at a more focused and balanced view. Rape is not a sexual crime because it is an physical assault driven by horrible mental instability. It has no gender but the victim is most often female. Nonetheless, a "Mayella (To Kill A Mockingbird) syndrome " makes it difficult to brand this crime without significant proof because it carries a horrendous penalty. To express caution on entry into any public vehicle regardless of size...to all potential victims...is a wiser choice I think.

What does CNN have against cruise ships all of a sudden? Oh, probably because Rockafeller is complaining about how much tax they pay, now the liberal controlled media is all over them. Ive been on 30+ cruises and never heard of any of these issues. Also they are talking about "Oh most cruise employees make less than $1000 a month". I would say, most cruise employees make close to $2000 a week. Room stewards get around $100/per room per week, and they have 25+ rooms to take care of.

Phil, I am glad you have been on 30 cruises without any negative experiences, I hope your luck holds out. I am a crew rape victim and former cruise ship officer. I was at the last congressional hearings concerning the lessons we learned from the grounding of the Costa Concordia. I watched Sen. Rockefeller question Ms. Duffy from CLIA, all the familiar sound bites were in her testimony...crime is low compared to the millions that cruise, the industry considers the safety of their passengers and crew their number one priority. Ms. Duffy even lied when asked if the industry had a whistle blower program. She said yes. There isn't one...if there was, I would have used it years ago. I couldn't even get a rape kit and I was a U.S. Merchant Marine serving on a U.S. flagged cruise ship. I was told to go back to work along side the man that raped me. I was one of five crew on crew rapes within 18 months. Are you telling me that since the percentages of the raped and dead are low, it is a risk your willing to take? It is our job to increase ship revenues. If we were honest about the illness outbreaks, mechanical breakdowns, fires, floods, rapes, and other crimes...would you honestly keep booking cruises?

Everything that has been reported here is true! I know, because of what I went thru myself as a passenger on the one and only cruise I've been on, that what you are saying is TRUE!! I was not raped, but I haven't the guts to tell the world my own experience. I just want to say to you, personally, Shari, that I am SO SORRY for what you experienced! I'm SO sorry!! :-(( Thank you for your post!!!! You have more guts than I!!! God Bless you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
