How much longer before the Inspector Generals report? Must be getting close to done by now; will it be publicly released or just a redacted version?

It is going to be very challenging to find the TRUTH without looking at the facts.

It doesn't matter if it was planned or not. It happened and the Justice Department was well aware that the ATF agents needed their approval to stop it. The Justice Department rendered the agents impotent and the guns walked and people died. The ATF agents certainly did not intend for these guns to walk. The real question is what was the intent of the Justice Department, who ordered the operation. Why is it unreasonable to expect someone to be held accountable?

By "truth," Katharine Eban means "what the criminals told me happened."

Eban ignored the MULTITUDE of witnesses (both gun shop owners AND border agents) who said just the opposite.

But the criminals say they're innocent, so clearly they must be. I mean, a criminal would never lie, would he?

It does't appear that the republicans want or care about the truth.I am an indepentent voter and the way that issa and bohnyer has gone off the rails to bring charges against Eric Holder will come back and bite them in the butt in the end.The end justifies the means for this group of OLD WHITE MEN that are losing a grip on power because they see the racial make up in this country changing and they are in a death spiral to hold on to power at any cost. The damage they are doing to this country would be funny if it were'nt so serious. These idiots are so desperate I warn you they will stop at nothing ,even murder. You can tell that the way the supreme court has made such far right rulings on campaign finance laws and Bush vs Gore they intent to set laws in place to try to retain control even when they are in the minority. They need to wake up and realize that when fortunes change it could get ugly. This is not South Africa

Just finished watching your Fast and Furious segment. Soledad, I shared your frustration. The disappointing part of this was that CNN and it's viewers wasted 10 or more precious minutes of their time listing to the distinguished congressman claim he wants the facts, justice and accountability when he lacked the self-discipline and poise to stop rambling and listen to, much less answer, your questions. The congressmen has demonstrated that he is unable and unwilling to engage you or Ms. Eban with decorum and civility, how can he be trusted to treat the facts of the case with intelligence and impartiality? The distinguished congressman's obfuscations only lent credibility to Ms. Eban's journalism. As an American with high expectations for my leaders and governmental institutions, The US House of Representatives was, sadly, not well represented tonight. As a long-time CNN viewer, I'm wondering what journalistic purpose was served by inviting this distinguished congressman to be a guest on tonight's show? It's impact served only to illustrate the bias and partiality that will be the basis for tomorrow's House Contempt proceedings.

Sorry for multiple posts...but really. A guy on food stamps spends over $300k on weapons and the Justice dept was kept from doing anything. An 18 year old w/no job but w/a clean record can purchase multiple assault weapons and sell them within a day and THAT's legal. Time to go after the NRA. I am a hunter, a shooter and a firearms enthusiast, and I think we have to shut down these nutcase loopholes.

Read the whole article at lunch today. Republicans need to be ACCOUNTABLE for their lies.

Soledad: I was on a plane with you once and didn't realize I LOVE YOU! Way to go tonight! The republicans are going down with their Watergate ship on this one. The real culprit in fast and furious are loose gun laws in Arizona. It's a travesty what the GOP is doing with their "story." Make them face the FACTS and let's get FURIOUS on them.

Good interviews by Soledad. This whole thing is so obviously political, and Republicans are trying to use it to their advantage during an election year. Holder's statement was that gun-walking was "unacceptable," but what if he didn't know for sure and thought it occurred, when things actually happened another way? And what if all this came up while Bush was in office, what kind of statements would Republicans be making then?

Well said, Soledad! What a disgrace that guy was as a congressman... it's no wonder our government doesn't work. It's obvious that he didn't want to answer any questions that could lead to the facts. The free press is the only thing keeping this country from being controlled by the wealthy.

As demanded by Representative Mica, there should be a database to track the number of guns provided to the drug cartel. It is clear he is concerned congress (at least the House) is not getting enough credit with NRA. Or maybe I missed his point?

Unbelievable! Good job Soledad! That Congressman was lying thru his teeth and it was obvious. It's all about the NRA. The NRA owns congress.
