I must have a different perception of what happed. I seen a Bus Monitor who's job it is to monitor the bus let this happen to herself. Her job is to monitor the bus & to prevent this kind of situation. I am surprised she still has a job. What would she have done if it had been a student that was being bullied?
If that would have been my child I soon as I found out I would have taken them to Karen Klein's house & made them knock on the door & personally apologize!
I commend the father for his honesty and concern secondary to the misdeeds of his son.Tho,he is being sincere, I still honestly feel that his son needs to make his apology while this is still a widespread news item.In reality, the lesson he would learn would be of more value. His son needs to feel the consequences of his attack as soon as possible, waiting for his son to feel better about making the apology is pure nonsense. His son had no qualms about harassing the senior citizen, thus let him feel the wrath of the public now.I honestly feel that the son does not think what he has done is so bad and he is hoping it will just die down and go away, and then it will be over.I assure you The son still has not learned his lesson,His family is suffering the consequences but he more than likely thinks it is a case of an overeaction.
I agree with the school district and Karen Klein on their ideas of punnishment. I think suspending them from school for a year and making them do communinty service will teach them the lesson they need to learn.
They are not really sorry. They are being forced to apologize.
Expell them for one year, demand 1000 hours community service [125% supervised] at an elderly center, never be allowed to ride the bus again, and to make a public apology to this woman. The parents need some form of re-education as well. Despicable conduct!
