My question is: I saw the "enhanced video." I had a barrette accidentally pushed into my head (not hard push) but I bled all over the place. Was not even aware I was hurt. Went to emergency to get a "butterfly bandage" on my head. Zimmerman had no blood on his clothes, etc. Not even a bandage~ I surely wish this would get some legal action in court. If Zimmerman had scalp wound and broken nose WHERE WAS THE BLOOD AND THE BANDAGE? Any answers?

Did anyone notice the change in attitude towards Zimmerman in the media?I wonder why?Maybe it has something to do with all the complaints over bias reporting and the fact the media were convicting a man on national TV with absolutely no proof he was even guilty of a crime under the law of that state, all for the sake of ratings and performing for the MOB.The some in the media have shown us that they are not concerned with facts but would rather perform like a magician until people figure out what they're doing then disappear. If Zimmerman does not end up charged or found not guilty under the law he should sue some people in the liberal media because of vicious way they have attacked him.

Why George Zimmerman's did not stop Trayvon at the gate when Trayvon passed him by.if he thought Trayvon was so suspicious.. he said Trayvon beat his head on concrete and his brother also stated that one more hit he would be in diapers, and if all that happen how did he managed to get up and shoot Trayvon because he would be knock out cold blooded.Zimmerman's are lying about the screaming because when he fired the shot the screaming stop.

I too am still wondering if George Zimmerman ever voluntarily or otherwise did a lie-detector test at Sanford Police Dept. If not would this be something available to him now, if he is innocent and wants to prove he is. It seems he's in a corner after two experts have determined through two different analysis of 911 Audio, that it's not him screaming for HELP.

Why hasn't anyone suggested GZ take a lie Detector test?

I think the only injury was to Trayvon. We were able to see his injuries, thats not in dispute.

I saw the enhanced video, to me it looked like old scared over wounds to me. George Zimmerman has a shaved head, think about it, how could Treyvon possible grab his head and slam it into the pavement when he had no hair to grab onto and there was no injuries to his ears? George Zimmerman is NOT a police officer and had no right to pursue an innocent child then kill him.

This is getting absolutely out-of-hand! Now they have altered the video to show that Zimmerman had a laceration on the back of his head. What they haven't mentioned is no evidence of blood on the back collar of his jacket, notwithstanding the fact that there is no blood on his shirt. Yes Audre, I do believe that his father has a lot to do with this whole situation. If Zimmerman was a REAL MAN and innocent, he would turn himself in and go through the process that everyone else has to do, unless they have a magistrate judge for a father.

I read about what people are saying. everybody questioned said the little boy was going to visit his cousin who lives in the neighborhood I hope that the investigation should be done fairly to get this guy arrested because he killed an innocent 17 year high school boy.

    April 3, 2012 at 1:26 am |

How can you be so certain he killed an "innocent" 17 year old boy. There are so few of them around anymore. We need more info before making that judgment.

Why would the lead investigator be over ruled by the Chief of Police? Is this a common occurrance in that Dept? Zimmerman disregards the police dispatchers order to not follow Martin and ends up in a fatal shooting would be enough to be arrested. Carrying a loaded firearm without a permit on a public street and then using it somehow is okay in this instance. I think back to the guy in New York on the subway who shot and killed 5 men because he was scared and feared for his life yet was arrested and convicted. Take the size of Zimmerman vs. Martin which is a factor in the use of deadly force in this instance Size was in favor of Zimmerman. Even if Zimmerman was attacked by Martin you cannot Initiate and escalate the situation then claim self defense. Zimmerman acted out of the scope of his authority as a neighborhood watch. All of these combined and you cannot make an arrest of this guy stinks out loud.

Trayvon Martin was an unarmed teenager that was going about his day doing things that teenagers do. He was confronted with an over zealous trigger happy person, George Zimmerman who suffers from a phobic reaction to black males. George Zimmerman was a self-appointed neighborhood watchman. He was not registered or operating in any official capacity. Even if he were an official neighborhood watchman, his role is to observe and to notify police. Instead, George Zimmerman, who has a history of agression and violence as indictaed by police records, he followed Trayvon Martin with the obvious intention of shooting him. Even after being told to cease and desist, he persisted. At that point, he was not in harms way. he went out of his way to pursue Trayvon. If a black man killed a 17 year old white boy, he would have been arrested without cause or vetting. He would have gone directly to jail do not pass go. Why is it so unbelievable that George Zimmerman is wrong? Why are we being super efficient with him, a merciless killer. Stop the madness people. George Zimmerman is guilty, guilty, guilty...

No one can know exactly what happened here. There is much speculation and the last thing we need right now is more hate.

So basically all this witness is sure of, is two people were struggling on the ground and one of them was shot... So that kind of supports Zimmerman's story.

    April 2, 2012 at 4:43 pm |
    • Phyllis

Even if it did support his story, why was he coward enough to shoot the young man. What happened to fighting "head-up"? Zimmerman's friend, Oliver, stated that he was sort of a "Barney Fife" kind of fellow." Essentially, had he not followed Trayvon, none of us would be talking about this. And the fact that Trayvon had on a hoodie is ludicrous! Why wouldn't anyone, wearing a hoodie, without an umbrella, while it's raining, not put the hoodie on for protection?

I don't even thing Zimmerman was a racist. I think he just wanted to do something to have the neighbors honor him. Now Trayvon's parent will hurt for the rest of their lives. Mothers and fathers are not supposed to bury their child.

      April 3, 2012 at 10:27 am |
      • Clarence

I doubt if Trayvon recognized Zimmerman as a Barney Fife figure, nor did the other victims in his violent police record. The fact that a lady needed a restraining order for Zimmerman is consistent with the fact that he trespassed into a gated complex dispite the 911 operator's instructions. .......He didn't sound like Barney Fife on call either. He sounded like he needed more anger management....the kind they give you in prison. Ya dig?

    • Dudley

no, it means that Treyvon Martin, who we KNOW was accosted by an armed stranger, was standing his ground under the Florida "Stand Your Ground" provision of the law. Zimmerman violated every law in the book. And there is ample proff of that.

      April 3, 2012 at 5:54 pm |
    • Pam

@Mike, this does not support Zimmerman's story. When Ron Goldman and Nicole Simpson were killed, Ron Goldman had evidence that he had hit the assailant. That did not make the killing self defense. There is no difference here. If you pursue someone and a fight ensures (because you pursued the person instead of leaving them alone), and they fight back, you don't get to allege self-defense.

Racism is so strong, it will make you lie, it will make you convict someone who is not guilty, it will make you put your kids in a car and drive them in the river and lie and say a black man did it. It will make you cry rape because you know they will be hunting for a black man to arrest and convict. So many times we always try not to look at race, but that is the lie, we are always looking at race. We look at discrimination whole heartedly when sex is involved, when sexism is involved, when sexual orientation is involved; we even use the civil rights law to gain access for people who are gay, or lesbian but when it comes to a black life we do whatever we can not to honor the code of violating someone’s civil rights. When will America start to look at a black life like we look at the lives and rights of dogs? Michael Vick did all those years in jail for fighting dogs, and we cannot even make an arrest in the case of Trayvon Martin’s murder! It is no wonder why other countries have such a hard time accepting America’s policies! Wake up America we are the world’s leader, example, is this the example we want to put forth to the world? I hope not…

I am praying for the arrest of George Zimmerman. It is clear GZ stalked and killed Trayvonn Martin and fabricated his LIES to make seem like self-defense.Be mindful he has knowledge of Sanford,FL laws and has used them to cover up his lies.Anybody following this knows GZ story dont add up to his claim of what happened. The 911 call he was at the entrance near clubhouse in the front of development when he spotted the teen.At no time did he say he lost sight of the teen it was then he painted his suspicious picture of the teen.GZ reported he lost sight of Trayvon and the teen showed up out of nowhere and begain beating him in the head.NOT TRUE the perimeter and timeline makes that impossible GZ lives in front,Trayvon lost his life 100yds from home in the rear of development. However lets not forget there are phone records, witnesses, etc. so with that i say GZ your friends and family talk to GZ who claims self-defense speak out for GZ as if what he said is the truth his storyline has HOLES.The police department says GZ jacket was wet with grass, shouldnt his pants be wet also.GZ claims Trayvon punched him in the nose, and broke it and was banging his head on the ground WOW,my broken nose was bloody and painful when i tripped and broke mine while jogging. So GZ friends and family be mindful there are two sides to a story not just one persons story.

I believe that it is well known that a lifewas taken in an in just manner.Police and Security personel are taught and sometimes certified to know how to approach a person .or being totally approached by a person that had limited enforcement authority.I've spent most of my life working with Adolecents. Youths are garded in ,dealing with confrontational manner.and Mr Zimmerman lacked The basic training of deesculateing a problem and created a problem that should not have existed. His overwheming over inflated self Image caursed this youths Death.and it should have been recognised by the arresting or detaining officer. It was a bad call.on The police department.
Even police officers have went beyond their training protocal at times,Violating a person rights,By excessive force.Do you approach a child or a youth yelling,or getting up in a youths face.Do you put your arms behind or to your side.Did Mr Zimmerman Correctly enforce upon this Youths Rights. If So He's Guilty.and should be accountable for his action.Which appear to have been Excessive to this issue.Stand your ground law should include neglegence.

This witness is not credible. I don't think he saw the whole thing. He's doing more harm than good.

Witnesses should not come out to tell their story. This gives Zimmerman information to craft a story that does not conflict with what the witnesses will say in court.

Aside from blood on Zimmerman's clothing shouldn't there also be mud and dirt since as Zimmerman (911 tapes) and witnesses have said it was pouring down raining. Also, if police observed some blood to the back of Zimmerman's head couldn't that have been Trayvon's blood. Witnesses on the calls noted Zimmerman hovering over Trayvon touching Trayvon's back who was now lying face down (not sure how that happened without Trayvon falling on top of Zimmerman if pinned down with Trayvon on top). But shortly after that witnesses (911 tapes) than notice Zimmerman holding his head and pacing! Again, we don't know for sure but that could be where the blood came from on Zimmerman and why it was cleaned off so easily.

That is what I would love to know. If Trayvon was on top of Zimmerman beating him when he was shot, did he fall backward off of Zimmerman(which he would then be laying on his back)...Or did he fall on top of Zimmerman(which would leave a blood stain on his chest) and then Zimmerman pushes Trayvon off him which causes Trayvon to be found laying face down(not believed by me)? Trayvon was found laying face down right? This is stated in the police report submitted by the responding officers who had to turn Trayvon onto his back to start CPR. The investigation is botched...FACT! Was grass stains found on the back of Trayvons' shirt? I mean after all, it was a "BRUTAL" fight as reported by Zimmerman to the cops. If Trayvon suppossedly only punched him in the nose and knocked him down and began slamming Zimmermans' head into the concrete, where is the statement from Zimmerman that he fought back? If Zimmerman struggled to move to the grass to keep from losing conciousness(and this is all he could remember stated by the brother) how is he remembering shooting Trayvon? How is he remembering yelling for help? If he almost lost conciousness from his head being slammed on the concrete for nearly a minute, how is he remembering all the things that his father, brother,Joe Oliver and Frank Taaffe are reporting....they weren't there (neither was I)...So they must be getting the info from him.

It's plain to me that if the man could see one body on top of the other before and at the moment the shot went off, then there's no reason he couldn't also see the bodies good enough to answer Cooper's question about did he see whether the body on top fell back, fell off, or shifted position following the shot? I mean they are the same 2 bodies he claimed to be seeing all along, so why couldn't he see them good enough to tell if one fell off, or if the one on top changed position with the one on the bottom. I don't see how you could miss it.

Based on the 911 call from Trayvan's killer, where he admitted to following the boy because of suspicious walking, and was told to stand down....This tells me that the 'stand your ground law' in this instance, would give Trayvan the right to stand HIS ground..Not the other way around.. In addition , this is supported by Trayvan's call to his girlfriend where he fearfully tells her that he is being followed... Again, this supports the 'stand your ground law' for TRAYVAN, to stand his ground... In an attempt to stand his ground, whether it be fighting his way, running away or talking away... He 'stood his ground', and was killed... This law is a good law, but you've got the wrong person hiding behind it...The person who had the RIGHT TO STAND HIS GROUND, ..IS DEAD.I

Zimmerman was told to stand down, But we do not have proof he did or didn't listen. He might have stayed and then Trayvon came back took his hoodie off and thats why they say there is a guy with a white T-Shirt beating someone up. The 911 call also says Zimmerman will be waiting by the MailBox.

Trayvon was on this 3rd high school suspenson; yet he was allowed to go out at night to a store (that's where you meet the bad poeple that have drugs and how you get mixed up with them) if it were my 3rd suspension from school, my paretns would have had me on a house arrest never being allowed to leave. Why didnt the relative he was staying with wonder why he never made it home. Why didnt the girilfriend DeDe who he was on the phone with and told him to run? ever wonder what happened. Why did no one even follow up so much that when they took his body to the morgue he had to be booked in as a John Doe because no one knew who this guy was. no one called looking for him either, not even DeDe.

Good points. This was not an innocent teenager. I am not saying he deserved to die this way because no one does but would love to say the Hatters cool off until we know more of what happened. Hate can be one way this kind of thing happens and spreading more of it is destructive in itself.

After Trayvon asked Zimmerman why he was following him, did Zimmerman explain or show indentification that he is a volunteer with the neighborhood watch program ?? Did Trayvon explain that he was staying with a relative in the neighborhood ??

It is so clear that this is about a gentleman that wanted to be a police officer and took it into his own hands to uphold what he thought was the law. I have not seen all the facts, as no one in this country has, and believe he is entitled to a full trial. I have no true opinion on whether he is right or wrong, but I do know this is not a black and white issue. I live in Chicago, every morning I awake to hear of at least 2 african americans murdered on the south south, almost exclusively by another african american...why don't we hear about this on the national daily news, on many occasions these deaths are in children younger than 10. I do not understand how you can say this gentleman is white, and I do not know why it is any different than any murder I hear of each morning here in Chicago. I also can't help but wonder what would happen to a white person walking around on the south side of Chicago running from a local on a Saturday night. I would be willing to wear a camera and walk around the streets of the south side if there is an african american willing to wear a camera in river north on the same night. I'm going to let you guess who has the better odds of living through the night.

Ashley, I am black but I dont really think this guy Zimmerman acted with a racial intent. After the series of burglary and crimes in the neighborhood, he just decided to step his game up against the perpetrators and unfortunatley it landed in him and Trayvon in a fight which very tragedly ended up with the death of Trayvon. Now !! It could also have been him(Zimmerman) dead by now. The whole incident is just an unforeseen tragedy. Both sides just got to refrain from bias, step back and allow the law to work. Else no one will ever be satisfied with any outcome of the investigation.

This witness seems totally unbelievable. Why has Anderson cooper never talked about the witness named John that the Tampa TV station interviewed? That witness made his statement to the police. On the Tampa TV station interview, John, the witness, stated that he saw the guy with the red shirt on the ground being beaten and asking for help. The guy with the red shirt was Martin. Why is that interview never mentioned? It is the clearest statement to date that Trayvon was beating on Martin and Martin shot Trayvon after asking for help. Yet there is no mention of it other than the Tampa TV station. Why?

When Zimmerman was arrested he showed no signs of blood on him, not his Face, Head nor his clothes. They say he was treated by a medic on the scene. Did they also have a washer and dryer???

I believe that Zimmerman 1st saw Trayvon on his way to the store, and stalked him with the intent to initiate an altercation, and thereby use the 'Stand Your Ground' law... So tragic and sad. I also believe that the stalling of the investigation is intended to go beyond 170 days. If Zimmerman is not arrested in 170 days, he can go free, and never be tried for this murder again. (Reason: They had him in handcuffs when he was taken to the police station. So technically, he was arrested; then let go.

When will the paranoia between black and white end. This was a racial profile of a young man that went horribly wrong. Had the young man been white would the results be the same. I have two African American grand children, I worry about them every day. My boys are in high school and college. The post that wondered why Trayvon was not accompanied by a parent at 9 or 10 pm is totally living in another world. Trayvon was killed, was there a scuffle yes, but who followed Trayvon looking for confrontation, and who carried the gun. Wake up america. This is the land of the free for everyone.

You have all kinds of people saying that mr ZImmerman should prove he's not guilty which is stupid because in this country it's the other way around and all the do gooders and publicity hunting activist have had their faces on tv and accomplished nothing. And the news media keep trying to make this a racial issue no one wants the truth or facts if they did they would wait for all of the investigation s to be completed but if the investigation is not to their liking they will all yell coverup

Unfortunately in this country race is and always has been an issue. He is innocent until proven guilty but based on his own story why did he engage anyone if he is supposed to watch and report. If tables were turned and Zimmerman was black and tray on was white with same story race would still come up. Racial inequality is an issue people just don't want to acknowledge or deal with anymore as long as it doesn't affect them no matter what race they are.

Zimmerman's father was probably known through the police department(that's why the cops didn't wear gloves in the video at the police department).I feel like Trayvon Martin's rights were violated before a gun came to play.Stalking, racial profiling to 911 operator and not identifying himself as a neighborhood watch captain..And all the reports of Zimmerman surfaced,I don't see how he can carry a weapon after assaulting an officer. But that's the system for you, there is hidden things in the police force. I took the 911 tape and cleared up what he said through Audacity,to see if it was a slur,it didn't sound like goon(like his crooked ass brother said). I found out South Carolina has the same law,but persons not "required to needlessly retreat.
It's time to clean out all the crooks in the departments and have justice to be served.

Has anyone asked what would have happened if this was a police officer who shot an unarmed citizen? Answer: The officer would have been placed on administrative, HIS GUN CONFISCATED, until an in depth investigation was completed. The statements made by Zimmerman are laughable. The funeral director stated Trayvon's hands were clean – No abrasions or bruises? This Zimmerman guy is a cowboy. Thank God he never became a police officer, because it is obvious, he would not follow orders.

At about 7 minutes in AC finally realizes that the person on top got shot.......Trayvon, and was laying face down after the altercation........because GZ was under Trayvon getting pummeled, the shot went off, GZ pushed Trayvon off of him to get up and Trayvon would have landed face down..........which is EXACTLY inline with what Mary Cutcher stated in her interviews that Trayvon was laying face down and Zimmerman was over him.........these two support each other to prove along with the eyewitness that Trayvon was on top beating him and GZ was on bottom.......this thing will never make it to trial but the media will not report all the findings and the riots will ensue.....

    March 30, 2012 at 7:31 pm |

Hey Scoon, if your child told you they were going to head to the store to grab a pop, and would be back in 10 minutes... and a half hour later , you get the call that they're killed.... by a man casing victims with a gun in tow..... filling out his fantacy of being a neighbourhood protector... feeling somehow threatened by a black adolescent walking on his turf...threatened enough to call 911 because he was walking on a sidewalk.......My only hope is that Trayvon got a couple of good punches in...in an effort to stand HIS ground, before he was murdered.

AC never says that the person on top was Trayvon nor does the witness. He says like all the other witnesess that it was too dark to tell.

Zimmerman claimed he fired because he almost passed out from his head being beaten against the sidewalk. Only problem for Zimmerman is Tray's head is 12 feet from the sidewalk facing the opposite direction, its impossible his head was being pounded seconds before he shoot Zimmerman. Or Zimmerman would have had to turn him around and then drag him a few feet.

      April 2, 2012 at 3:55 pm |
    • Walter

I disagree. If someone were on top of you, beating you, and you manged to pull a gun and shoot them, they wouldfall on you as dead weight. You would push the person off of you and they would roll over. If you managed to actaully lift the person, you would have to roll over while still holding their dead weight and set them down in order for them to be face down.

Ummmm...only in the world you live in with a completely different law of physics. o.O If someone is on top of you and you push them off to the side, they don't land flat face down. If you're on top of someone you've tackled from behind and you shoot them in the back, you get someone lying flat down on their face dead. Keep reaching.

Why doesn't the "Stand your ground" law apply to tray on Martin? He was an innocent person accosted by an unknown person and he was afraid for his safety!

bang on...The wrong person is hiding behind the law... Not sure why nobodies figured this out yet..

      April 1, 2012 at 2:01 am |
    • Robbo

My guess would be because, according to Zimmerman's statement was that he lost sight of Martin and was heading back to his vehicle. Then according to Zimmerman, Martin doubled back and came up behind him and confronted him about being followed and the alleged scuffle ensued. If this is true then Martin was the one initiating the confrontation and a legitimate case for self defense could be made by Zimmerman. What ever the truth is its sad that the lives of so many are being affected by something like this and a life lost. Its terrible that race has been brought into this incident by the press and being taken advantage of by some wannabe do gooders.
And whats up with the Black Panthers putting out a bounty on the capture of Zimmerman? Capture?! Capture him and then what? We all know what that means. Groups like that do nothing but make race relations worse.

so why did it take this idiot so long to come out with this story? could of saved a lot of people a lot of heart ache. Its to the point where you just don't know what is the truth anymore, they have made this into a circus. Arrest Zimmerman let his lawyer prove his innocence if he is and send him to jail if he is not. Makes perfect sense to me. It is very disturbing that they just found the body of a 17 yr old at the bottom of a swimming pool, she is African American her killer just surrendered. She was beautiful, but did you hear anything about it? no why? because he is not white. We need to forget what our ancestors did and move on with our lives a human being is a human being regardless of your skin color. Rochester lost another beautiful soul. I pray she get her justice and i pray that the family finds peace and closure. Watching the mother on TV during a press conference brought tears to my eye it didn't matter what color she was, it broke my heart that anyone should suffer that way. Just doesn't make sense. No Al Sharpton, no commotion in the streets all because same color kills same color. we live in a crazy world. WE ARE ALL HUMAN BEINGS GET OVER YOURSELVES with this racial crap. All i got to say.

Maria G, I'm not sticking up for GZ at all, I'm not going to assume anything at this point, but you simply cannot arrest someone and "let their lawyer prove their innocence". It's on the prosecutor to prove beyond a reasonable doubt.on guilt. We cannot simply throw people in jail and make them prove innocence, it's innocent till proven guilty, but I can understand why so many are fired up over this shooting....

This case is a big deal, b/c noone was arrested and he should have been, not b/c it wasnt a black on black crime. Do you think if Zimmerman was black that his story would have been believed and he let go with his weapon and no investigation, no drug test, no alcohol testing, nothing? Stop perpetuating the foolishness.

Question not asked. " Did anyone from SPD ask him if he had any information elating to the shooting"?
You would hope that the SPD would question possible witnesses.

Lets hope this does'nt get turned into another Rodney King drama. A couple of questions need to be answered,Why was George Zimmerman carrying a Gun. Why was Trayvon Martin out after dark, especially if was anywhere near 9 or 10 at night unsupervised by an adult. Trayvon should of had someone with him. George Zimmerman should not of had a gun in his possession. Neighboor Watch people are basically to "Observe and Report" a crime in progress or that has happened, and let the Police Department handle the outcome. If Trayvon did what was claimed he did,he could of been "Arrested and Charged"
for his actions. If he had no weapons on him, then George Zimmrman is "Guilty" and be "Charged and Prosecuted" for the death of this kid. Many times if a parent tries to keep there Teenager in a night, putting down rules, these kids tell people they know or at school they being abused.

    • larry jones

It was 7 pm. Not nine or ten. And since Zimmerman has no power of authority Trayvon did not have to do anything. If Zimmerman had stayed in his car and not chased after the kid, Trayvon would still be alive.

Anyone can carry a gun in any state that allows it if they have the required permits. Does not matter if they are part of a watch group or not. If someone is assaulting someone else, as seems to be the case, then the person being assaulted has a right to defend themselves up to and including killing the assaulter. Depending on the state and the particular laws of that state.
If I was being assaulted by someone, I would shoot them or do whatever I could to stop them because I have to assume they are out to cause me serious harm if not death. I am not interested in letting my attacker keep working on me until the police arrive and hopefully subdue them. By then it could be to late to save my life.
Trayvon was on suspension from school, it appears he was continuing to make bad choices, like beating up on someone, who may or may not have had it coming to them.

It was 7 p.m. at night....as reported he went and bought skittles and tea...hardly criminal in nature, and most 17 year olds do not require being babysat at 7, 9 11 etc...they are close to being a legal adult.

      April 1, 2012 at 10:14 pm |

Trayvon was 17..why does he need an adult with him? I was 17 in college in a different state from my family..guess what no adults with me. But to your pt..it was 7pm not 9 or 10. George has a weapons permit..and he was not on the neighboorhood watch, though he liked to think he was..another pseudo cop. And no Trayvon only had skittles and Ice Tea no weapons..he was on the phone with his girlfriend and Old George started pursuing him!

Am I crazy or is Town Watch just what it says TOWN WATCH. and was Mr. Zimmerman in his auto observing the person and if so, why did he follow and why get out of the auto?

I am curious as to why nobody is discussing Trayvon's rights under the Stand Your Ground Law. The way I understand the law is that since Zimmerman was following Trayvon he would have surrendered his right to stand his ground under the law and that the right to defend himself even by throwing the first punch would go to Trayvon since he was in a public area where he had a right to be and was being followed by somebody that he reasonably could believe was about do due him harm. I am not seeing this correctly?

Im a 50 y.o. White female in Texas who feels that these neighborhood watches often overstep their powers. I have been confronted and photographed in my neighborhood park for having my horse in the park [legally]. I didn't know if the man was a rapist or stalker or whatever. I was very uncomfortable probably like Trayvon was scared of George. These neighborhood watches have no true authority but believe they do. At least if a police officer approaches you, you can assume they have ID and a reason to approach. At least I feel that as a white woman. I've also
had a man photographing my property, caught him doing it. I think he was from the neighborhood association but not sure. These watches have to realize what their actions appear to us ie stalking, etc. I almost called the police to make sure I wasn't being stalked. Instead, I walked right up to the man and confronted him. He said he was just taking a picture of my gate, yeah, right.

I appreciate the new witness, but instead of all of this hearsay speculation, why isn't there a coroner's/CSI report? I understand not everything is like CSI, but if there was any doubt in this crime, a coroner's report could at least verify the angle and (perhaps) distance of the entry wound. Was it 1 ft? 3 ft? The victims clothing would also have gun shot residue if it was really a close range struggle. Why not talk about this? Not a lot of BS speculation? you're better than this Anderson. Don't get sucked into trivial newscasting. Pretend this is Egypt and go for a real story – not some New Black Panther Party fodder, grainy videos, and all sorts of other speculation.

And while this is an interesting story, I can't see why you spend more than 5 – 10 mins a night (at most) on it. Aren't there more important stories in the 360 world?

Why is it when a black man or boy is killed and there is injustice. You don't want to hear about how it affects race relations in this country. This is a teaching and informational moment. Things apparently you have never experience. From your comment, I take it that you're not black.

The country needs to face and solve problems like this. By confronting issues can we move beyond this.

he's the stupid one? If you have seen the police report they have interviewed all witnesses that were present during the shooting. im pretty positive (IMO) that he has spoken to polic and investigators about the shooting. This just goes to show you how people jump to cinclusions without seeing or reading all the facts.

This man is clearly still trying to protect Zimmerman. He is stuttering too much. He knows once you hear someone arguing and it's not usual you kind of hang out a bit to see what transpires. It could not have been THAT dark if Zimmerman could see what HE thought he saw...come on EYEWITNESS, tell the truth, the whole truth and NOTHING BUT the truth so help you God. OR JUST SHUT UP.

FYI I believe the law that is so controversial in Florida right now was put there for people to defend themsleves in crimes such as :being car jacked, which has dropped since the law. Also for store clerks to protect themselves in a robbery, or a customer to be able to defend themselves or the clerk in a robbery situation. These crimes have dropped since people fight back in these situations. It was for a purpose, but not sure if it was relevant in the Trayvon case.Maybe, maybe not. I was wondering, I read online that Trayvon's dad said Trayvon was with his cousin who was 20 yrs old, where in the neighborhood was his cousin if they were together?

Mr. Zimmerman's Father is a retired judge. I wonder if there have been favors given in this case and the case from 5 years ago. I thought that assault against a police officer is a felony. So how was he able to get pre-trial diversion. Was it possibly his father's connection to the legal community? And the decision to gather evidence and at the time of the incident, did it have something to do with the fact that his father was a judge?

    March 29, 2012 at 9:24 pm |

      I agree Angela.

Angela you could bet money George Zimmerman's dad had a hand in his son not being charged. I'm even willing to go a step further and bet daddy has a lot of experience saving George's butt. He's probably been doing just that since George was old enough to start getting into any kind of trouble involving the authorities.

The witness said a few very important things:
        1. Two people were struggle on the ground.
        2. There was a shot and one person got up and walked away.
        3. That they did not see who got up, the person on top or bottom in the struggle.
        4. The boy was lying face down and the Hispanic was walking away.

If GZ was on top in the struggle he would have been fighting TM with TM face down which would have put the gun shot in the back.

If TM was on top in the struggle and GZ shot TM, then TM would have fallen down face down in the grass and the gun shot would be in the chest.

The witness did not see the act of separation between the two people to know who was on top in the struggle. Also, if it was too dark to see the people clearly it would be too dark to see if GZ had bump and cut on the back of the head.

This witness confirms GZ story as does the other witnesses.

The death of TM is tragic as it is for the death of any child, especially a violent death. As one prominent African American journalist recently stated" the real tragedy here is that this is only a story because it was a non-black shooting a black. If it would have been a black shooting a block this would not have made the news."

When are African Americans going to learn that Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are using them as a tool for attention and as a result, lots of money. Both of these clowns would be bankrupt if they did not keep racial tension high

The 911 call confirms Trayvon's story....if you take Jessy and Al out the picture it woud'nt erase the realities of hate crimes and racial profiling

If TM was on top in the struggle and GZ shot TM, then TM would have fallen down face down in the grass and the gun shot would be in the chest.

This theory does not make sense. The point of bullet entry and exit the body would help determine is TM was shot from the back or from the chest. If TM was on top of GZ and was shot from the chest and was push off OR fell over (after being shot) from on top of GZ; how likely it is for the body to fall and land face down? I think this is unlikely.
