Anderson talks to Sen. John McCain about his push for a coalition of nations to join together for a military strike against Syria.
America would be wise to heed the advise of senator McCain. He definately knows what he's talking about and it's impreretive that the U.S. lead and intervention in Syria. The Syrians have been getting slaughtered in the hundreds everyday and this is just absolutely shocking. The would must do something. I also would like to commend the wonderful work that Anderson and the CNN team are doing in showing the horrific realities that are taken place in Syria everyday. Keep up the fantastic work Anderson, you are the best.
I'm not a Republican but I agreed with McCain on Libya and I agree with him about Syria only I think something should have been done long before now. However I think Syria is much different than Libya. Iran and Syria are joined at the hip and Iran has nuclear capability that it has threatened to use in the region in the past, so I can understand Obama and Panetta being more cautious about involvement under those circumstances. As far as extent of brutality Syria stands apart from other countries experiencing Arab Spring. Things that will stand out in my mind about Marie Colvin is she reportedly said she had covered a lot conflicts but Syria felt different to her, and her last story was on a baby in Syria that she watched die of shrapnel wounds to the chest and the face; shrapnel wounds in a conflict s how Marie Colvin lost her eye. What stands out in my mind about the Syrian conflict are all postings on youtube that people have to be over 18 years old to watch because they contain disturbing, grotesque, obscene and graphic images of Syrian children tortured, mutilated and dead, there are so many of them over the last 12 months and we just watch on our computers. I am with McCain when he challenges us to ask what does America stand for? I'm not sure what we stand for, I just know that I don't want to stand for torture, mutilation and utter hellish destruction of little un-armed kids in the world when it could be stopped by all of us. If Iran fires up the nukes under those circumstances then it needs to go too because it is wrong for tolerating or aiding torture, mutilation and killing of little unarmed children. Iran knows what is happening in Syria, it has done nothing about it, it is next door to Syria and it is a shame that it could have intervened long before now but has not. I think that tells the world at large everything it needs to know about Iran.
I agree with Senator John McCain that other countries with ours should do air strikes over Syria to help the citizens there.
